I'd make a video game.......with a bunch of stuff......

Ideas: A replica of the whole world. Open world video game replica of the whole world..... like........ GTA only make the maps and world a replica of the whole world, and have a character customization section and.....some story line that may sound promising

Keyword being original, guys :P

Well it depends on what kind of game you are thinking of, FPS, Hack and Slash, RTS, there are lots of types. Personally I have always preferred games with a hack and slash + magic system. Never liked turn-based combat, so I would gear it towards real-time-combat.

Then you want to think of the world it is built around, are the laws of physics different in some way? What role does magic have, if any, in this world? Is there a war going on? What sort of weapons are most widely used?

So after we consider the elements on the games' world, we want to consider the people. The main character must be important in some way, because a main character needs a conflict to over-come and grow as a result. After the character is figured out we then look at the villian(s), why is this person or group doing what it is doing? What kind of advantage do they have over the normal characters? Do they hold a grudge against the protagonist, or is it just dumb luck they are his enemy?

The support characters are a simple enough thing to figure out, what are their skills, how do they help the protag. or antag.? What service do they provide?

Typically a full game can be born when considering these questions, maybe I will write more on this later, got school in the next few min!

Strangly, I think a stratigy game based off the cartoon tv series "Avatar the last airbender" would work. I don't like the show THAT much, but I think the idea of it being a stratigy game works, with the four nations being their own "team" that you could select and build a base and attack others with. Kinda like starcraft, or any of the Command and Conquer games. But you know, with the four nations instead of countries.

Well soz if it wasnt original but imma just say some JK4 or KOTOR 3 dont so bad and i think most of us can agree.

Im sorry that i dont have any original ideas at the moment but if something comes to mind. :)

It could be very good, if done right, but I see a lot, a lot a lot a lot of ways to screw this up. RTS games like starcraft don't tend to do so hot unless it's, well, starcraft. There are a few notable other franchises, like command and conquer and company of heroes, but there are many games that try to do this and fail utterly. Part of the problem is that they have such a tough act to follow, I think.

I see what you mean MM, ill tell you guys tho a real good rts is Rise of Nations :
Its really cool because its like a refined version of world history with nations put into an rts. You can play up to about 30 nations and 8 eras of history where you manage resources, declare war, make alliances, buy land/resources, research technology, and a ridiculously large amount more. You really feel like the leader of a country as you climb to greatness lol. You gonna feel like you played for an hour when you really played 5.
I played countless hours and would play many more if I could connect with the multiplayer servers. Its the best rts ive ever played so far and hope you guys try it. And pm me if you have more questions.

Btw mandalorian I back your idea 100% (I used to love watching that show :)) but I think its best to do it like Rise of Nations with a couple supernatural powers.

But seriously, I like the idea of a first and third person (can change if you want) action MMO based on saki's idea of an open world, that is actually Earth. Kinda like planetside 2, but you have the Earth.

Each account could have a set number of character slots (again, like planetside 2) and each character could be assigned to a certain country. The playable countries would be the U.N.

What would make it interesting is the ability to use weapons used in that country throughout history... for example, if you picked U.S.A., you could pick a load-out of an M-16, flintlock pistol, and a tomahawk. This weapon feature could expand into future weapons, but is not necessary.

Allow for a class system, giving the ability for several groups, from all throughout history, from medieval times to present, to be fighting on the same turf. You can upgrade armor and abilities to make it a little more fair for the "old-timers" to survive, though they will not have the up-close-and-personal roles that the, say, U.S. Marines or Russian Spetsnaz would have.

All Weapons can be purchased over "The Black Market" for all countries, and can go towards a custom load-out for your character. So if you want a katana for your American Indian, go for it!

Again, as this would take place over the Earth, it would be a free-for-all of countries facing each other on different maps...err.....continents.

Vehicles would be ones like the weapons and classes... used throughout time in the respective country you are in. You can collect your country's vehicles from your base, but can also take vehicles from the enemy, and surrounding area. Rideable attack camels? HECK YES. You CAN in fact use your main weapon on vehicles in which your character is exposed, like horses or motorcycles.

There would be specific missions available to complete, but also the ability to free-roam and gain land for your country. You can form a squad, outfit, regiment, and legion (basically the equivalent of a clan) for attack parties against other areas of the World...

That's all I had before this question was asked.... I had all of that written down on a spiral notepad in my room, but I still can't think of a good title

Just to keep it real for Aventador, I said in that post that i BACK mandalorians idea as a game you should make. So no harm done.

Phil, your rise of nations thing sounds exactly like the current Civilization series, except real time not turn based lol.

On a different note, I loved RDR, and would personally like to see more games in the western genre.

Cause Badwolf has a point, im gonna pm you about that sometime to reveal the differences and your mind will probably be blown lol.
