So, yeah, I was just wondering, is there any wrestling fans here ? I've been watching wrestling since I am 5 years old, I read books about the past of wrestling and all, I'm a big big fan!

Yes I used to be a big WWF (long before it became WWE) fan. I had a subscription to their magazine and enjoyed their pay per view shows 4 times a year. But when they started cussing and giving each other the finger, etc., I gave up on it. KIDS watch that stuff and eat it up. I decided not to be a part of it anymore.

Once my ex gf's son was over for the weekend. Whenever he got mad about something, he'd say "suck it suck it" over and over. I told him that was wrong to be saying. I asked him where he learned it. at school? He never told me.

Then one weekend he was over and asked to watch TV. We said sure go ahead. I went outside to do some yard work. When I came in to cool off he had wrestling on and one of the wrestlers was using that phrase. I said AHA so that's where you learned that from. I said ok no more of that when you're here. So I changed the channel. His mom sent him to his room. He said his dad let him watch it at his house. We said you aren't there now.

She called him and told him what happened. He denied knowing anything about it. Yeah right, w/e.

Bottom line is kids see that and copy it. Then get in trouble when they do. I won't be a part of that kind of behavior.

It reminds me of the server when someone comes on there with a derogatory or rude name or bad language is used.

Oh I see, you had some problem with the "Attitude Era"... Well, I must say it was my favorite era, but you always have to keep in mind that it's not reality, I guess it was more Rated R at this time. WWE kinda became PG now, it's more like a family show than it used to be in attitude era. I'm kinda proud to say that one of the biggest star at the moment is purely quebecer, which is rare in an american industry like this!

I was a big fan of WWF too, I must say I miss the good old time!

Well I mean I can enjoy fighting as much as the next person but I know for the most part it's scripted, so the concept of realistic suspense doesn't quite capture my attention.

Ho yeah, I see.. It's pretty much like following a great serie for more than 15 years for me :)

The extent of my wrestling fandom was watching the Ultimate Warrior's old promos for the laughs and making John Cena jokes. Oh and also I used to be a fan of the Big Red Machine because I liked his name

Ho! Thanks! I'll watch it :)

Just for fun, who are your top 3 favorite wrestlers of all time ?

For me it would be:
3. Shawn Michaels
2. Goldberg
1. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin
In another class, just beside God himself: The Undertaker

Not sure how I missed this thread, but my wife and I are avid fans of WWE.
I've been watching since around '95.

The current product is good, could be better but they continue to improve over the last few years :).

Totally Dopie, I think there's great talents out there! Sometimes it's just nostalgia... But guys like Apollo Crows and Kevin Stein are very impressive!

For sure. NXT talent is definitely a pleasure to watch. To me, they are sometimes looked in the same light as college football. The guys that want it more, because they haven't gotten to the "pros" yet (Raw/Smackdown). Shinsuke<3!

Jeff was such a pleasure to watch during his WWE tenure, hopefully he ditches Impact/TNA and comes back one day, before its too late.

Im kinda late to the party on this one, but ive loved wrestling pretty much my whole life until the last five years or so.

WCW used to come to our convention center in Dalton when I was a kid, my best friend who I still hang out with sometimes introduced it to me when I was about eight, he still watches it religiously to this day, WWE that is and some japanese wrestling. We were both extreme hulk hogan fans, its funny and I almost hate to admit it, but I still sometimes listen to this horrible album when I play JKA:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEdAkWOXcVM

I used to have the original cassette tape and we would listen to it and laugh every weekend. Oddly enough this is one of my time to fight seriously albums if you can believe that.

When ECW showed up, I was into it with my dad from the beginning. We never missed a show and loved how extreme it was compared to what I was used to before. After that died I finally watched WWF and grew to love Stone Cold as many in my school did at the time. I never really liked The Rock, but my favorite scenes period have to be the many him and Stone Cold shared, classic to this day.

As far as Goldberg, we thought he was an over powered joke. I remember my dad mentioning he played on the Georgia Bulldogs college football team, so that kind of made me like him abit more at the time since that's my favorite team in sports period. I just couldn't tolerate someone who seemed untouchable, I dunno.

As far as lately, I have tried to watch it on occasion with my old friend when hes in town. Just doesn't have the magic it did anymore, or maybe ive become an old man.

Hey ho Alucard! yeah, this album is terrible, you chose the right word to describe it :P I have to say I also miss the good old wrestling, I miss the attitude era that's for sure, but there's still a lot of good wrestlers out there! And for Goldberg, he was simply my favorite! He has the look, the style, the moves and indeed the power (let's not forget the jackhammer to big show). I'm just happy to see him 12 years later, coming back to face Brock Lesnar!
