Ok I have been asked on the server a few questions about myself. So I'll say it here for all to see if that's ok.
I am 58 years old. I'll be 59 on January 6th.
I stand 6'6" tall
I wear a size 16 shoe. actually 2 shoes. lol
I got the nickname Lurch in 3rd grade. I was always the tallest in my classes and NO I never played basketball. Wasn't good at it.
Everywhere I have worked where I had to wear a uniform, I requested my name be Lurch on the shirts. Seems there was always more than one Dave so it was less confusing that way.
I do NOT drink, smoke or do drugs. I don't like them and I never acquired a taste for coffee either.
Some people at work ask me why I don't go out and have a drink sometimes. Well I don't care for the taste and I have seen the MONSTERS some people turn into when they had way too much. Also its MY choice not to.
I have worked many different jobs over the years. From driving a small delivery truck, to bagging groceries, (back in my youth), to pressure washing heavy equipment and trucks, to flipping burgers at McD's. I also worked in a hospital pharmacy, and the receiving dept. So many that I won't list them all. The longest job I had was at a construction company for 20 years. If I had remained there I'd be at 35 years already.
I enjoy playing JA, I read books, take walks, and generally enjoy life the best I can. Its all not easy but I do my best. At the present time I work at one of the Temporary Labor places where we are sent to various jobs for either a day or longer. We never know. Its minimum wage but for now its all I can get. You see, when it comes to me getting a REAL job, its very difficult. WHY? My age. That's what stands in my way. An employer sees your birthdate on an application, and they turn you down. And legally there is nothing that can be done. They want people younger who will stick around a while. Its a shame but that's the way it is. As I said I do the best I can.
And do I feel my age? HELL NO I don't. and people say I could pass for 35. I simply say ty and walk away.
