As you all know I'm Welsh and from Wales.

I went to my local forest yesterday to take my dog for a walk and perhaps take some photographs of the forest I used to play in is a child, the shock was when I noticed that about 3 miles of it had been cut down, turns out it was due to forest disease but that is no comfort.

It makes me realise why people fight for their homes, why entire races have vanished for their defiance against incursion. The sight was terrible, it didnt even look remotely dignified.

The worst part had to be walking along the same path that I used to as a child, I could remember what parts of the forest used to look like by certain victorian landmarks.

Long story short, you don't know what you have untill it's gone. Thought i'd just share my feelings on that.

I was pretty upset about it. There was pretty much no memo or notification they essentially just bulldozed a good couple of acres of woodland.

The reason that the council (The Neath port-talbot council not the KR council! hehe not blaming you fellas for tree genocide) eventually gave is that the trees were diseased and that it was an attempt to prevent the spread of the disease, however yet more trees have been taken down so I'll just have to wait and see how it goes.

Hopefully they decide to replant trees, so it can once again be a nice forest for generations to come
