I am looking for a tutorial how I may get a 3ds max PLAYER MODEL into JKA.
All related tutorials will be rewarded with appreciation!

Thank you.

Well, the tutorial on player model compiling that I used seems to be gone, but it involved several things. Specifically, tools from the SDK pack, such as Assimilate, and files that contained the bones in proper placement and such.

Unfortunately, it's such an old process, I was barely able to do it. Basically, I used 2 versions of 3DS Max, one to skin (rig the model to bones) and the other (older, like ver. 7) to aid in compiling for the carcass assimilation.

Sorry, I can't be of more help, nearly all of the information I used is long gone.

If you wish I can play around with it later on, see if I can figure it out again.

Alright, I have re-located the information I used a couple years ago:

http://psyko3d.50webs.com/tutorials/jk2_guide.htm
-the basic tutorial on how to do all of this fun stuff, check out the rest of the site for fixing issues and wutnot

http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/J ... K_MP;20909
-I am fairly certain this is the correct SDK, the link to the SDK in the tut is broken

As I said, I will try to fiddle around with this again, been ages since I touched this junk. Maybe I will actually finish Gos' model :o

If you just want to start out and get the hang of it, I recommend making a stick figure player model, that way there is nothing fancy that you wasted hours of your life on and then ends up not working.

Alright, I relearned how to do this junk, pretty sure the most complicated part is making sure you have the right plugins and small programs in the right locations (and finding an adequate version of 3ds max, have to use no newer than 8).

I'll be throwing together a tut here in the next day or so :P
