Hahah xD

Yeah I agree their old stuff was better but its the same with nearly all bands to be honest, everyone gets hooked on the classic, old school stuff, and then when they write new music no-one (over exagurated obviously) likes it. But when the new stuff gets old everyone will love it, its a musical circle Ive learnt to like :P

firestarter is still their newer region and breathe and the like

how do they compare?

The Prodigy was in a totally different genre and at its best in a different generation. Early 90s was their best.

Their newer stuff is good though.

I imagine most people here are too young to remember them when they were on the hardcore scene.

what are you on about they were around at the major hardcore events all from late 80s to 90s

Like them or not thats what they were doing around that time, and they were very big at it.

Your totally off track

we are talking about Prodigys hardcore success and your changing genre

Prodigy hardcore success is from Hardcore as in Techno and electronica from late 80s and 90s

I am not familiar with what your talking about.. I have never heard of hardcore punk.

It must be something different or regional

you ask anyone from europe what hardcore is and they will tell you there are simply no guitars!

Unless of course your born in the mid - late 90s when it had already happened.

Edit to clarify

It would like me trying to compare Marylin Manson as a Hip hop artist.

Yeah dude, theres two ways of defining hardcore

First is to interpret it your own way and decide what is and isnt hardcore for you whether it be music or something else.

Second is looking at hardcore as an actual music genre, just like rock ;)

agree with you ...what i mean... subgenre punk (hardcore )=more older than techno hardcore... my final last word end of the discution :D

 #48640  by Chantelle

Doesn't matter they both existed your said they wasnt hardcore.. when they were just a different genre.

And we were talking about Prodigy so punk guitars hardcore punk whatever your talking about shoudn't come into the equation.

Prodigy were the rave scene and that what we are discussing. That genre of music is obviously new to you which is why you simply made a mistake. Because otherwise no Prodigy were nothing like a punk music whatsoever

I wanna make a point, id get grilled for doing what ur doing.. Id get the usual oh on your off topic lock this thread.. this stupid bitch has taken it off topic

I think it comes down to your made a little mistake.. the hardcore type of music you refer to is probably US stuff.. but when talking about prodigy and hardcore the work punk shouldn't exist..

You will also be surprised to know they cannot sing elvis or do hip hop well either ;)

Now I think we can all recognise that it was a simple mistake thats all. Bizarre as it was to compare prodigy to some punk music it was a mistake

so back on topic

so whats everyones fav original prodigy song?

Being only 19 They were kind of before my time

So i am going to have to say I know only their newer stuff like breathe which I loved

although from the few old stuff I liked "No good for me"

I have Experience, Jilted Generation and Fat of The Land :)
Plus a few live gig recordings.

My all time prodigy favourite has to be Poison though, frelling love that track. Although Charly and Fire come a very close second.

Prodigy are definatly one of the better things to come out of Essex :D

 #48784  by Richard

Poison wasn't that from their 2nd album?

 #48804  by Kane
