hello D:

ok, the downlow is that my currant comp is apperently gonna kick the bucket soon, so i need help with figuring out what configuration would be best.

the main reason im having trouble is because the majority of these specifics are too confusing to me

the kind of setup id like is mainly focused on graphics and memory, but with a side of gaming {if theyre at all different @_@}

so yeah, any good sites and/or suggestions pertaining to my desired setup would be kewl, i would prefer a custom built system

Personally 4 things to look out for in a PC

You will want Core duo

2-4Gb Ram

Graphics card depends on the make

Hard drive - 500GB

Best thing to do is to find one you like and send a link

Just a bit of change on what Chantelle Said.

The processor should be atleast a Core 2 Duo, since there's also an inferior processor called the Core Duo.

Also, you may not need 500gb for a hard drive. If it's only slightly more then a smaller hard drive, then go for it but if it's much more then a decent sized hard drive, forget it.

500GB HDD isnt expensive at all and I would suggest it also because the newer drives are faster and more efficient

hard drive speed is teh largest bottle neck in modern PCs, until solid state becomes defacto at least anyway.

i would suggest a 64 bit os. its what ive been using and its great.but definitely figure out what hardware u absolutely want and then decide on the 64 bit os if your hardware can use it.

also remember, with a 32bit os, you cant utilize more than 3gb of ram, and some manufacturers let u buy 4gb and a 32 bit os at the same time....dont get caught in this trap

i dotn have 1 clue what an OS is so i need info on that @_@

my budget is undecided atm, i figured id find a good website for this sort of thing, get all or most of what yall suggested and then see about the cost, but i guess its easier to get the budget figured first >.>

I would suggest NOT a 64bit OS

Your likeley to encouter a lot of compatabilty issues still. Thats lazy developers.. hopefully windows 7 should be 64 only

Plus the 4GB thing is kind of a myth

4GB on 64bit is equivalent to 2GB on 32bit.

32bit you can get 3.5 and the last .5 can be used for application.

OS is operating system, such as windows, also yeah i agree I have 32 bit with 4gb of ram and I love it

Look for something like a dell Insipron and customise it to your best and then stick it up here.
