One little gem I found recently is Rimworld. If your into base building and simulation type games with a survival twist, I found it absolutely addicting for something that looks so basic at first glance. There are several scenario's, but the classic version you and two other people crash land on a random planet or rimworld with basic supplies and weapons, even a complimentary pet dog. Each person starts with random skills and skill levels for said skills. You can randomize your three survivors before starting the game as often as you wish to get desired results, or just hit randomize once and hope for the best. As the game progresses and you build shelter, and begin hunting/gathering for food, random events take place including but not limited to: Hostile tribes attacking, Friendly tribes looking to trade with you, animal attacks, several weather conditions depending on planet, even things like blights that will destroy entire fields of crops out of no where. I see new events even after well over 50 hours in game. The goal is to research all necessary parts to build a starship and escape the planet with your life, though this is very difficult I still haven't succeeded without save scumming to save myself from bad situations. Graphically it looks exactly like prison architect, but I consider this a plus as it allowed the developers to spend more time on deep and lasting game play rather than something pretty to look at. This game is still in development, but its current features are more than enough to lose a lot of life on if you dare.
