I know you've apologized time and time again, but you have to realize how this looks: you've done very spiteful things in the past and up till now you are banned again. If I was banned previously and dealt with time and time again, and graciously got a chance back yet again, I would be very, VERY careful not to break rules even if you feel you can justify them. And how can we not look at what you've done in the past? we can forgive numerous times but at the cost of the server's well being and player's experience there, how many times should we forgive you? five times? a hundred?

My judge here is how your activities affect the fun and feeling of safety on server for our visitors and members alike. And I do that by hearing the feedback of the people posting here. For instance, John went to some effort to show how you are rather liberal with your words. And you called him immature. I mean, you expect the people here to take you only on your word from the last six days, ergo insinuating that you were immature before that, and you have matured since then - and have proven it by your expositions.

I am curious to see though of any positive feedback of those people who you say had fun with you on server, your defenders if you will.

Until then it would be remiss to let you back on in light of the comments about you - I am just trying to weigh a balanced opinion.

It's funny you speak of my so called proponents and opponents, Jawfin, when the majority of the comments written on this thread are by people I have never come across on the server at all. You very poignantly argue that the basis of any ban is the upset to the well-being and security of persons on the server. Nevertheless, incongruently you omit to acknowledge that the majority of my 'opponents' (to adopt the converse of your whole 'defenders' terminology) have based their criticisms not upon anything I have or have not done on your server, but instead forged their opinions entirely on the basis of the exposition in the forum. Colloquially, and I mean this with utmost respect, one might go so far as to say that the majority of commenters on here are 'bandwagons'.

You might think that the criticism on here is warranted despite the blatant disconnect I have described above. However, what is ironic is that you call upon my supposed 'defenders' - persons of your camp who have played with me for but fleeting moments - to rescue me from comments made by opponents who have not dealt with me at all. I hope that you can grasp the irony here - you place a premium on having people who have witnessed my actions firsthand to come to my rescue to offset comments made by people who were not present on the sever at all. It is obvious that your whole opponents and defenders dichotomy is a false one.

My defenders will not come. This much has been obvious from the start.

The point is that your bahavior, past and present, has left you with no one who can support your claims that you are fun to be around, which is a point you used in your defense.

And yes, maybe some comments here are not from anyone you've encountered on the server. Those comments are not the reason you are banned. Your behaviors are what got you banned and given that you've resorted to attacking other peoples responses to your weak defense, I'd say you have no good reason or excuses left for why Mr. Jawfin here should unban you.

All that is dignified has already been said. I have apologised not once, not twice, but umpteenth times. I see no harm in reiterating this yet again for you, John, since this catches your fancy. I'm sorry. The grain of all you said was essentially that there is nothing left to say - and yet I have been graciously reserved one last chance to say "something dignified". if this doesn't bear heavy connotations of desired beggary I don't know what does. So here it is again:

I never asked for an apology. In fact, I don't think we want to read anymore simple apologies. This isn't about apologizing. It's about you understanding where you messed up, understanding the rules, and convincing us you are trustworthy enough to be allowed on the server. Apologies don't mean anything without a commitment to change.

So, something along the lines of "Sorry for laming. I understand it's not fun for other people and it's against the rules. I won't do it anymore. If I have a problem with a lamer I will report it to admins instead of raging. Sorry for leaving when punished when I should have accepted consequences for my actions. Won't happen again." would have been more appropriate and have gotten you a lot farther along then simple apologies and making excuses.

We really aren't asking that much and we certainly aren't demanding that you beg. We take no pride or joy out of banning people and we prefer people to enjoy our server, but not at the expense our visitors fun and safety.
Our rules aren't going to change if you get unbanned. If you still don't understand or respect them after all this time then maybe our server is not for you. Just make sure you are not just setting yourself up for failure with these requests.

I assure you that my apology was not one bereft or devoid of the deeper understanding that I messed up. I do understand your rules, and if given the opportunity to visit the server again, I promise I will not violate them. There are a few reasons for this: (i) In a positivist sense, rules are rules and should be obeyed, (ii) it is collectively your server, but most importantly (iii) I think that there are genuine grounds for the rules that KR have enacted. I understand that if everyone responded to lamers the way I did, the server would quickly spiral into chaos. It was in a fit of selfishness that I raged out, and I do understand that this is unacceptable and that I need to be accountable for my mistakes.

I hope that this demonstrates a degree of introspection per my blunders, and an inclination to behave better. At this point there is not much more I can do or say, and in any case I should not burden everyone else on here with my incessant tirades (I hope that those of you who have made it this far into this thread have got at least some entertainment for this haha, if not, I am sorry). Tirade is an awesome word.

What I'll do is leave it as is for a week, then lift the ban. Its like an extension of the "sleep for 5 minutes" aspect.

There is a secondary reason for this, it'll allow emotions to settle. I do believe if you came back now people will just look for the bad in you, and I don't want that. Anyone can find the bad in anyone else if they are determined.

I hope you feel comfortable with this decision as it will allow you to come back happy too. I just cannot see any other way to be fair to all concerned.
