I agree he definitely did Obi well.

As for Hayden, maybe it was his acting, maybe the directing. Either way, they released the movies with those BAD scenes. I'm just happy about the Novels for the movies, they were everything I wanted to see in the movies that wasn't shown.

Random thoughts, but what did you all think of the ship/land vehicle designs in the movie? I thought they were definitely in line with what we saw in the PT and OT, just a little more advanced design wise. The new X-Wings look beautiful, and I like them more with black as the dominant color than white. It seems to add a more aggressive look to the ships, in my opinion.

I loved Rey's speeder as well. It's beat-up, and almost looks like something she put together herself using what she could find.

Actually I have an issue with the space ships in this film. There were a lot better designs in the concept art book they didn't use. Most of it was bland. Starships in star wars have always stood out among other sci fi with unique ship designs. Slave 1 and the Millennium Falcon are great examples. I understand why the first order's ships look bland is because they were rushed together in secret. The X-Wings are awesome though. Han's frieghter looked unimpressive. A lot of it was underwhelming. I wanted to see a lot more imaginative spaceships. Other than flipping a shuttle on its side and making it fly that way. Only a very small nit pick with me. Everything else was great :D

I find it strange a lot of people have said that, especially considering the art director for the ships is the same person that did the prequels. Since they were trying to keep things a secret, they might have better designs in the next film, since the majority of things are out in the open now character and organization wise

Yeah I agree. Doug Chiang is good. His art was still wonderful in this book. I want to know more about the situation in the underworld. I know after the republic left Coruscant things got crazy lol MORE OF THAT

I agree, they used many cool ideas for ships in the prequels. Here it felt like empire ships from the past. BUT!

In the books(EU) Star Destroyers are still up and kicking including Super Star Destroyers. So I feel like the first orders ships made sense. It's the smaller ships/fighters I feel they could have been a bit more creative with.
