So since it's summer and I have a ton more time on my hands I have taken up the responsibility of watching other peoples children. The parents of these strange little humans are paying me quite well, compared to other jobs I've had and because of that I was thinking about getting back into MARTIAL ARTS!

I used to be in Kung Fu and I loved it. I was in better shape during that time than I have been at any other point in my life. I love the traditions and the exercise. The only problem is the place I used to go has recently closed and I don't know what to look for. I was thinking of getting into Kendo so I can learn to use a sword like a true Knight ;D.

Have any of you been in Martial Arts? Any suggestions on what I should look into? Also have any of you nannied before? Any ideas on how to keep them entertained? They are 10 year old twins and they are pretty dorky.

You could tie them up and throw them in a volcano

Try taking them fun places like parks, events , swimming etc.

I practice Tang soo do (moo du kwan) a Korean striking martial art. I'd recommend it naturally, I've enjoyed the experience greatly.

I've got a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I tried Karate after that, couldn't do it - stances were too small/cramped and weird to me. I went on to Kung Fu, which is so much different than Japanese martial arts. Had a lot of fun with it, would definitely consider picking it up again. Aikido is pretty fun if you enjoy knocking people down and walking away slowly.

Kids like lots of sugar and bright lights, incorporating that into your routine should be quite appealing

Tomorrow I am taking them to Dinosaur ridge which is like a fossil dig site in the mountains. So we are actually gonna do something.
I really liked kung fu when I did it, I like the philosophy and tradition surrounding it too.
