Clank and I were talking about this a little bit on the server last night and he mentioned jokingly that he was going to make a post about it. I'm beating him to the punch. Working for Apple and having a desk job as I do (no I don't actually own a Mac, I just provide tech support on them 
), I need something to do sometimes to pass the time in-between phone calls, lol. Another reason for my doing this is just to see how much I have in common with some of you and if we play some of the same games.
What other games do you play besides JKA?
How long have you played said games?
Why do you enjoy them?
What is your favorite game besides JKA?
I'll start us off by posting my own version here.
Note: There is no limitation to the games you post here and talk about. This can be PC only, or also be Console type games like PS3 or Xbox.
My list of games would be so long that it would make this post gigantic, so I'll go with JUST the games that I'm regularly playing right now.
PC Games:
Anno2070 (a few months)
Star Trek Armada II - Fleet Ops total conversion mod (years)
Star Trek Online (since beta)
Guild Wars 2 (since release)
Jagged Alliance 2 (years)
Star Trek Birth of the Federation (years)
Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion (years)
StarDrive (since April - release)
Alot of these games are strategy based. I'm a big time Strategy game player if you haven't noticed.
PS3 Games:
Final Fantasy XIII
That's pretty much it right now.
One thing I like to do is run Anno2070 on my PC and then also play FFXIII. Anno is a very slow paced strategy game so sometimes I can just leave it running and have to wait on certain events to occur before I can do anything lol. i have a gaming PC so it can also run JKA with anything else since JKA isn't a very demanding game anymore.
I've been playing Strategy games all my life, starting back with StarCraft 1 where my first clans were and where I started gaining leadership experience in running clans. I love games that make me use my mind and think about things before I take action.
Final Fantasy has got to be my favorite franchise. I haven't been a big fan of the online games, but the single player ones are probably the best and well known in the gaming universe, especially FF7 with as many people that like the characters Cloud, Tifa and Sephiroth. I've been playing through FFXIII again because not only do I want to finish XIII-2, but I really enjoy the battle system with this one. Many people complained on the linearity of the game, which to some respects I agree with, but the battle system feels a lot more fast paced and involved. You sometimes have to make quick last minute decisions in some of the harder boss fights in order to survive, and I REALLY enjoy that aspect of it.
