So, yesterday my laptop decided to die and doesn't want to boot. It gives me an error that it needs a device to boot from. It reads my hard drive and everything else in the bios. I've tried a different hard drive but the same thing happens. Right before this happened my computer updated. Anyone know of this problem?
I'm thinking I might need to change the bios. Worst fear is that my power source is shorted out or fried. I still have others computers, so I will still be around.

my laptop will not boot either but it is because it needs a boot disk aka windows

do you still got your windows disk? if so try putting that in.

or you can try a system restore

There's nothing wrong with the hard drive. My guess is it's the bios or the power source for the hard drive.

No, nothing is plugged in.

hmmm maybe you could see if you can boot from another device like an USB or an external HDD but u need to instal an OS on it
