Okay, I'm have a serious problem D:

Yesterday I was playing Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and suddenly, boom, my computer exploded, nah, jk jk, I got the black screen of death D: and the pc rebooted.

So, I said, meh, it's nothing, just a system fail, played again, same happened, again, same happened, and that happens to me with every other game.

I don't know that much of informatic, but, that's obviusly a virus.
There is some way to delete, or resolve this without have to clean my whole PC?
Oh, and that just happens when I'm playing a game.

If it is a virus then the only thing I can think of is wiping it. You could take out the battery of the PC then hold the power button that could drain the virus out.

Edit: Keep the battery out for a long time and just hold on the power button button for a few minutes.

It's inside of the PC silly. Just take the cover of the PC off then look for a little round thingy <---- that's the battery.

*sigh* Ok, I feel a need to correct up the misinformation here.

Firstly, you cannot "flush" out a virus by draining electricity. A virus isn't some anomaly which just happens to a computer - it is a specific program developed by a programmer with the intent of doing harm to a computer, it doesn't just happen. "Draining the electricity" is like bleeding a person to get rid of a common cold.

Now, having said that, this is not a virus. Or if it were, the possibility would be 0.1%

It's most likely a physical problem with your graphics card, RAM or graphics card driver. Is it hot where you live? Computers can overheat. There may be dust in the heat-sinks of the CPU or GPU. You can run a RAM check (there's one build into Windows [use Google to find it]), or perhaps try other burn-in tests. Check the drivers (use Google to find out how) and dxdiag for graphics card tests.

By the way, unknown to most people, a PC does have a battery, it has a watch battery in it so the PC can keep the time when it's turned off - precisely as a watch does, and that's all it does. (Some PCs may use this battery to keep the circuits alive which store the PCs CMOS/BIOS information.)

If you don't know these terms, Google them, don't just ask what they are.

If your issue is occuring during gameplay i'd recommend checking your power supply unit and your graphics card - there have been issue's were the graphic's card has demanded far more power than the Psu can provide and hence the G card shut's down ( Take for example high quality gaming on a weak computer) When the crash happen's don't just turn off your computer check if it still has a power supply coursing through it ( E.g are light's on? are fan's still running? ) Also what jonathan said is pretty much spot on.

Try not to jump to the " virus" conclusion since computer issues can be caused from any number of causes for example my computer was crashing quite violently and i discovered the cause was a little bit of fluff in the graphics cards fan - after removing it my computer run's fine ( Just an example for ya ).


Oh and gollum there are many ways of getting rid of a virus " wiping" your computer is not the first solution.

You can start by having a remotely decent anti virus although i'm aware there are a " few" good free one's i personally pay for mine.

The next step would be to simply scan your computer and see what come's up.

After that if you are really struggling you can in future prepare a backup of your system ( It's very rare you get a virus capable of doing what is described here - If it was a virus this would be the moment to start panicking.)

Also another good way of keeping your system safe is having a good firewall (my Anti vir / malware provides one )

On a last note : I have alot of experience with paranoia regarding virus infection's and i can safely say over the 5-6 years of being worried at every little thing i have not had a virus once - i would say that they are not much about but make your opinions for yourself's
