can we not talk about military? ppl talk so much smack agains it.... they dont know what ive been through... i cant ignore the bad things they say about how we dont do anything and what we do is bad.... i shouldnt have to explaing myself. ive done more in my 3 yrs in the army than most ppl will EVER do.... im SO HAPPY for the lives ive saved. however i am sorry for the lives ive lost... i drink everynite to compensate the pain.... ive been though more than most men ever go through... try holding a 7yr old in your arms as she lies dying in your arms saying plz help... the only english she knows.. and you cannot do a damn thing for her... that is only but one scenario... idk why im posting this online.. maybe the whiskey is talking... but still, can we NOT talk about how the MILITARY supposedly SUX? ty....

Fraea, despite your experience in the military, machinations of your mind or not, people will still have their own opinions. These kind of things should not be talked about with such fervor, as it will just bring conflict. KR is not about conflict.

Also a personal note, semi, you Cannot post on any board here, a message like this that has extreme potential for offensive material. I can tell you that I'm not into the military thing, but I plan to become an Author. Do I hope I change lives with my work? Yes, but I don't put others down in the mean time to "compensate" for anything. You saying three years in an army does more than most people will ever do is, quite frankly, disheartening. Holding a firearm and defending people is honorable, and I salute all our soldiers for the good works they do, but stopping someone from suicide or inspiring someone to self-actualization is just as honorable in my eyes. This goes for anything.

And after reading a few things, and seeing what you say, I think you should seriously consider getting help for the drinking. This will not fly if you're thinking of joining KR.

ok not going to say anything because i might seriously punch somebody through the computer.sorry but im not very clear on what wind said all i can say is drinking will never stop it. but i know somthing that will...

its called praying and again i dont want to insult you or anything and as yoshi has said "im not trying to convert you or anything" so plz plz plz dont take this offensivly i just know ive been through some bad stuff and the lord has always been there. dont drink i have some relatives that drink and i really dont like it in our family soooooo plz my dad says its like fire you touch it and at first it dosent hurt and then it burns really bad and i know i havent gone through what you have gone through so i have no right to say that i have been through some pretty bad stuff basicaly i say this because most of the bad stuff,i inflicted upon myself

oh and dont mean to insult wind but i think our troops do waaay more heroic stuff, their risking thier butts to stinking protect us

Son, as a serviceman you should remember that your active service was your profession, thus making you no more special than any other contribitting member of society.

It's unfortunate you had to experience such tramtic events that will remain lasting, but you'll never find an answer at the bottom of a bottle. That only numbs the pain temporarily.

I strongly encourage you to Contact one of the VA's PTSD (Post-traumatic Stress disorder) centers in your area so that you may receive the proper treatment.
