For some very odd, very strange and frustrating reason I am not able to correctly input the remote URL for my display picture.
Halp!

You have to copy the image URL I think, right click and say copy url. Sometimes the website will provide a link to embed. Just using the URL at the top of the browser won't work I don't think.

make sure the file extension is at the end of link... for example, tinypic.com does this to me all the time.
I'll upload a picture and get:
tinypic.com/blahlblah/826257615
When in reality, to get the picture's URL, I need:
tinypic.com/blahlblah/826257615.jpg
Also, make sure you're following these guidelines:
"Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 150 pixels, the height no greater than 150 pixels, and the file size no more than 6 KB."

if you are trying to use photobucket then you can forget about it
since photobucket's direct links now just leads you to their page so this way you look at all their useless adds...best thing IMO is upload the pic here:

Just a quick heads-up on this guideline. The 150x150 is true (although if you're a smartie you could go for a bigger height, but not too big, but the width maximum is to be 150). But as for the filesize, that is only if the KR domain is hosting your avatar, in that you used this forum's feature to upload your avatar to be hosted. But as that feature has been disabled, you cannot upload, the filesize restriction doesn't count. Still, bear in mind people with slow Internet or with very limited download limits (like me on my mobile phone, 2G/3G and 100MB per month [welcome to Australia]) and don't use massive images.

I just used photobucket and IMG code to place this.....
He was an old clan member of mine when I first started playing in LoD.
I made this for him, he said he wanted something basic.
