Well guys starting tuesday(tommorow), im gonna do a little... experiment.
I'll be trying to be relativley unplugged without technology for the most part to see what other stuff i decide to do with the time. This will hopefuly measure my reliance on technology to fill my time and give me recreation. I may learn something i didnt know before about my self. This will last 1 week and once tuesday morning hits next week, ill be free of my contract!

Terms and Conditions:
-1 full week
-No ipad/kindle/mobile web browser(unless for work
-NO TV!
-NO VIDEOGAMES!
-no writing on the KR forum either ;(

Well i just wanted to tell you guys that if you wanted to know why all be away after tuesday. Cya all in a week! (except for tonites binge-playing :3)

I wish you luck. I recently took a month break from technology and it proved to be very refreshing. I hope you find it does the same for you :)

I did the same back in August... went hiking in the mountains with my girlfriend, skinny dipped in a natural falls, rode camels, swam across a lake, went to theme parks, sat quietly in a rocking chair on my Tennessee front porch (before I moved back to Texas) and listened to nature go to sleep with my girlfriend, spent time with my family, and so much more that I now do more of because of it! It was definitely a great change and re-awakening for me after college!!! We so get into the rut of things and forget the simplicity of it all. I'm glad you are taking this challenge! If you succeed, Phil, do it for another week, just because!!! Good luck!

No, don't do it! Rumors have it that no technology poisons the mind, in fact, I heard some people don't even like video games in that world :o.

I wish you luck. You will find that it's quite fun to do stuff with other people without technology poking you with a stick.

I don't think you'll last. I couldn't go a month without technology. Pretty sad isn't it?

If you actually think about it, using the term technology doesn't nessesarly mean only eletrical devices, but overall technology made by man kind, which would include showers, clothing, doors, etc.

Unless you are literally addicted to your computer; which is harming your life and family; I see no reason to do this.

If you really want to take a break from technology, save up a load of money, take a month or two off, head to china and visit the Northern China Shaolin Academy and do some good and healthy exercise. (www.shaolins.com)

Tee hee @Gollum.
Well ha! Lol It just turned midnight Tuesday morning where I'm at and I accomplished my task.

Results :
-better focus when at school
-more sleep
-very boring at home
-got a lot of work done

Overall my technology ban that centralized around anything with a screen was an insightful experiment. I felt a greater focus on my life without thinking how much I wanted to swing a saber! However I found a lot of free -time on my hands when not at home and found myself bored at times. I did realize that I could buy a lot if time back by being self-concious of how much time I have.

I cant say wether this experiment will effect my future playing on jka. I love playing with you guys and you all can tell that one Day I hope to join the clan. But it surley showed me some things I didn't see before. I'm glad I did this experiment because I proved I had the will to do it and I was refreshed in my own way.

I reccomend anyone thinking about trying this to do it because its only 1 week and you find out some things you never knew about! By the way I decided on Tuesday morning not to watch ANY Tv but didn't edit the initial post till now because KR forums was off limits :3

Lol I didn't stay away from ALL technology that week. My challenge was to resist anything with a screen.
