I personally prefer xbox, but I liked playstation 2
for games like halo, those are microsoft games, so they are PC or xbox exclusives, that is another factor to consider

May i ask what you mean by that?

Microsoft games can only be played on Microsoft consoles, same goes for Sony games can only be played on Sony consoles; hence they are exclusive

Personally I've always been more geared towards PlayStation stuff. I like their games better, I like their design better (controllers, console, etc) and I like the interface better as well.
Xbox is still pretty cool though.

well as far as interfacing console to computer, no console really does that to as great an extent as you mention
xbox verses playstation, there is no major difference exactly, some games are exclusive to certain consoles, it also matters if you want to be secure. sony has had issues the past couple years with attacks and sensitive data theft
but basically, there is no major dif between consoles, just matters what brand you feel is the right fit

I like xbox for the halo series mainly, i forget if assassins creed is xbox exclusive or not
past that i really have no reason to prefer xbox over playstation, im not a major gamer, so i have limited needs to be fulfilled
the issues i was talking about playstation is the past couple years their network and such has been hit by virus attacks as well as other attacks in which confidential customer data was stolen

i know you are an Halo lover, not Freak, and also i know that you are a good friend of mine, thus i respect your opinions, and if you ask me Nec is a major gamer i do belive that he has both so that he might tell difference and i think Assasin Creed was for Xbox as well.I am pretty sure that i saw it at D&R and i believe Xbox is better because you buy only Xbox but For sony one you cant decide which PS you should buy and i think PS4 has just released in Turkey i may be wrong tho

nah, PS4 doesnt come out for another year yet, must be PS3
I agree, nec may know the dif
although i think i recalled something, playstation used to be good about reverse compatibility (being able to play games for past consoles), but if i recall playstation 3 stopped being good in that department. whereas xbox still plays older games

guys, what matters is arcanine's game preference, not yours, so here is a question for you arc:
What games do you prefer play? Types?

I generally play First Person Shooter and Strategy Games, those are the game types but i dont like Survival Types much, and if a game is popular, like DIRT, i would try it as well, i mean i used to play Need For Speed a lot

so three of them,lets say

Since I'm apparently a "major gamer," I guess I should throw my hat into the ring. Not sure if I should feel happy about this title or not
Anyways, first things first, Assassin's Creed is multi-platform, it is available for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. There are also other titles, not sure if all major titles of the series (1, 2, Brotherhood, etc) are available on portables like the PSP or DS, but I believe they are (don't quote me on that.)
Down to your question Arcanine on what console you should get, read into the games you like to play. You noted that you're playing Mass Effect and want to play that. You can technically play that on both consoles, however, Mass Effect 1 is only available on Xbox and PC. Mass Effect 2 includes those as well as the PS3. The PS3 version of ME2 let's you start with a virtual comic that basically tells the events of the first game and let's you make basic decisions so you can create a tailor made story for you, but it's not as in depth as actually playing the game and importing the save file.
So, my opinion, at least for that game, would be to get an Xbox. However, it's really up to you. Do some research, as in, look up the games you want to play and what platforms they are available to play on. As Sen said, there's no major differences between consoles other than Sony's lack of security and the Xbox's ability to play the now obsolete HD DVD (woo Blu-Ray!) Otherwise, it's not that big of a gap between them. When I'm not so hungry, I might list out the differences between consoles
Also, for future reference, I only have a Wii, PS3, and a PC. I do not own an Xbox, nor do I think I will since I can pretty much play all those games on PC, though that could change.
Anyways, hope that clears things up for you a bit Arc. If you guys have any questions for your apparently "major gamer," feel free to contact me through PM on here, or better yet, if you have Skype, add me (Necros1215) and you can reach me there basically all day. Note: This goes beyond gaming advice, I've always wanted to be the big brother figure in this clan, so if you need me for anything (except plumbing

) feel free to contact me.
Edit: Got some food in me and found this link, hope this shows some differences between the consoles to consider:

Thanks for the information Nec,you were pretty helpful for me.You made this thing clear up and i think i am going to try to buy Xbox first to try.The reason what i was asking that Games have started to make a fps lag and sometimes it is pissing me off, anyway thanks again mate,by the a deep note in here. I always do see you a good friend of mine so there is no doubt that i will ask something

anyway, thanks once more.and what do you use for Wii

What do I use for Wii? As in, what do I use the Wii for? I've always been a big Nintendo fanboy with Mario, Zelda, Metroid, all their games, and I even got my Gamecube (my first console upgrade from a Sega Genesis) because Sonic Adventure 2 was on it, and I thought that trend was going to continue and then I realized, oh hey, Sonic's on other consoles, and those games are better, so hey, PS3.
But yea, fanboy, I'm probably gonna get a Wii U as soon as it comes out if I have the money

Ok ok,so you are saying like Position cleared and under control

anyway, next year i think Ps4,Xbox 720,Wii 2 will appear and i think that i am gonna buy Xbox 720 even tho Playstation is more popular in Turkey

i wonder how it is going to be

I wouldn't wait for the new consoles to come out. First of all, I'm not even sure if true release dates have been given yet, just time frames of when they might come out.
Secondly, they're probably going to be astronomically expensive. Note the PS3 announcement when they said that in North America, it would retail for $599. That's a lot, at least here it is. It was meant with absolute silence.
Now, just by Google's currency conversions, that would be 1092.2764 in the Turkish Lira (which, I am not sure if that is what you use or not, or how expensive that is to you.) That's probably somewhere around what you should expect the PS4 and "720" to cost, so further consideration on if you would want to wait.
Finally, are they going to be backwards compatible? You would think so yes, but I haven't read up on the reports to see if there's any substantial evidence on if they are or not. Take the PS3, now only is backwards compatible for PS1 games. The Wii U? Only backwards compatible to Wii games, not Gamecube like the Wii was. So...yea.

i am not sure if their release date as well if they did,it might be a faux one so i wont say anything til they Truely exists.i dont blame them btw in your second sentence,if you buy them,it is gonna be like buying a part of Space tool

like buying Google Glasses.1000 Tl is pretty expensive for me,because i am a Student now and i earn money with my weekly Pocket money

but i am sure that Problem will get solved when i get a job
