Hello all,
Just felt it was my duty to inform the clans I am in contact with (Since I'm now the JA+ Lead Tester) about the new JA+ update that has been announced

.
Serverside Changes
- JA+ now prevents players from renaming when silenced
- JA+ versions will be referred to as "Builds" not "Beta's" any more.
- Game memory upgraded from 262,144 to 786,432 (Will mean less server crashing in general)
- Better accuracy with gun admin commands for those without JA+
Clientside Changes
-
No more crashing on map change/entering the server!!!
- Userinfo problem where someone could change their e.g. skin rapidly and crash clients has been fixed
- Model list in profile now lists everything instead of e.g. half of your base skins/models.
- No more shaking screens sometimes when a player gets on a vehicle.
- When using the crosshair on players with alt characters in their name, it wouldn't display them, this has been corrected.
- A few scoreboard issues fixed where if a name were too long it wouldn't make things buggy.
Enjoy

That's a good point actually, Slider actually introduced amslay temporarily on JAWA XD it was fun for a little while but we had to revert back. So to shatter your excitement, Nope! XD

We have a question that Falcon raised. If a person auto-silences themselves by getting caught by the swear filter, how are we to know that has happened? Usually they rename themselves to "silenced" to let us know. They could recon, but they'd have to know how to do that. Also, if they were being punished and they recon'd, well, that's not healthy for them.
Has this possibility been taken into consideration?

Well we usually never have that problem because we turn off the autosilencing feature.
I assume their best way (If an admin has forgot) is to reconnect.
Sorry just a quick correction
"- Userinfo problem where someone could change their e.g. skin rapidly and crash clients has been fixed"
Is a serverside change.

Hey SiLink,
I think we could turn off the autofilter on our server for sure, but I was wondering two things:
1.) Could the filter notify us when it has silenced someone? (much like when an admin sleeps or silences someone all the players on the server are notified through ampsay)
Could make the autofilter more useful.
2.) Instead of auto locking someone's rename ability when they are silenced, would it be better to just have a new cmd that locks a name for a designated player instead?
ie: /amnamelock Lamer
I mean I'm sure I'm not the only one who has played the rename game with an unruly player over and over again. I wouldn't want to silence someone who is verbally following the rules just to gain control over their name.
Would be nice to just lock it up.
I don't know if it is too late or not for these suggestions, but regardless great work though

this update looks very impressive, and this is coming from someone who suffers many a clientside crash.
Please pass on my complaints to the chef!

Nice suggestions

I'll pass them onto Slider, they seem like they'd have a lot of use.

Hey siLink, would Slider want me as a beta-tester too? I am a programmer and am quite familiar with Q3 and JA+ (like, you'll note on KR that /refusetele just doesn't seem to work...)
Can you ask him for me please? Otherwise let me know the best way to contact him. I have a few ideas and recommendations
