So lets talk about the future of humanity, lets say that the human race has perfected space travel and has met with humanoid alien life, Do you think that our species will be the bringers of democracy, Freedom , equality and justice? or an oppressive, conquering , brutal and violent Empire that conquers its way across space? I personally believe that due to the " Greed" of the human race we would be a powerful capitalist empire how about you?? ( Strange topic i know but i love this stuff... )

Hello Viv. first of all i would like to say that welcome back to the server and forum;
secondly;if we would meet a different space creature,the scientists of the earth should make a translator which can translate into the English or French ,so that we would understand that they would friendly
Thirdly;The democracy idea of the allien depends on the creatures,in Turkey the democracy leads the vote from the people but in other planets it would be a different term of democracy;for example it would be a 'war democracy' or something like that

So i don't belive this crap its the same thing with computers crashing world wide from the transition of 1999-2000 years, Anyway the post was made out of boredom lol

I believe its december 21st 2012. Also On how WE would treat them? Same way we treat anything aggressively defensive untill we can take a guess at what the other species was like. Openly anyway depending on who would find them first we could vary from the Militaristic view which would either be protective or invasive. We could go with the Scientific view which would be to investigate thier geneology and technology (could possibly go hand in hand with an agressive military response) But mostly we'd be cautious. I.E. Scientists in bio hazard suits and Military back up in more defensive positions. This would most likely be how we would respond if we were the ones being visited.

I think we can all agree however due to governments being too protective and think we'd need to be coddled unless they can't stop it there would be a media blackout on the situation whether they have like say America's freedom of the press. If the government deems it that there would be a mass panic most likely there would be a blackout untill they have figured out intentions and threats.

Back to the orriginal question though. Curiousity and the first few years if not days would depict how our species would act. Humans are violent yes but in the face of a possible greater interest/threat in most cases I belive humanity would unite. I don't believe we could be a conquering race just yet we'd have to find someone weaker than us for us to have the gusto to assume any ruling position. Overall depends on who we meet before we could decide how we would react to meeting them.

Good answer, However i always tend to pose the question, What if we are the advanced species who is invading? I think that history has showned that humanity can and will take advantage of " Slave" resources... especially if theres no one to point a gun back at them.

True enough but first would come the scientist study to make sure thier chemicals produced by thier bodies and planet wouldn't cause harm to us
