Hey people, random topic erm... Whats your definition of loyalty?

( Not getting at anything btw just interested ) ill start with mine:
I believe loyalty is to trust in thouse you are loyal to, To honour them and believe them ( although not to the point of complete blindness) However loyalty for me isnt blind followship, Loyalty for me is doing what is best, However also respecting the choice of them you have sworn loyalty too - make sense? Kinda like a medieval vassalage thing! hehe To much mount and blade - Whats your definition ? : )

Loyalty hm...
For me loyalty is a morale oath you make to a certain person or a group. By being loyal I imagine following the set rules, doing what my body lets me do to help when needed and to give a hand to those who have tears. By making that morale oath I prevent myself from any possibility to break the loyalty, but if somebody breaks my loyalty, I have no mercy for those at all.
It's not a strictly bound loyalty though, I mentioned the 'set rules' and that's everything that binds me, nothing else. For the freedom! =)

I guess my refined version of loyalty is an oath of honour : )

Loyalty = Faith + Love + Honesty
It can't exist without all three parts working in sync with one another. To try and be loyal to someone you do not love, have faith in, or feel you can be honest with is a fruitless effort. That may be why loyalty is becoming something of a rarity nowadays in the postmodern era, an age defined by cynicism, sarcasm, and nonchalance.

loyalty?? its just a word..... symbolizes some kind of commitment towards a certain entity, but still in the end it is but a simple word.
