I was playing L4D 2thing other day
my husband asked me if this game is good. I told him this game is good. He asked me whether I got a plan fighting zombies.

This got me thinking and want to ask everyone this:


What's your Zombie Plan?

So feel free to share your plan in detail!!

So I can take some ideas and own him!!!

1) load up on A LOT of food/ammo/guns.
2) Camp in an upstairs house. and set propain tanks on the steps.
3) Lock every window and door in the house.
4) Set up cameras in every room
5) Make sure matresses make a wall going up the stairs.
6) pull out your xbox and a tv near those stairs
7) play some L4D(2) while you wait
make sure you have a vehicle named Betsy in your garage
9) make a open/closable hole leading from the upstairs to your garage
10) let the apocolypse begin!

Assuming I had ample time to prepare (based on where I live):

1) Locate one the many islands along the ohio river. The island would need to have no bridge going to it; only access would be boat.

2) Build a metal I-beam "fence" surrounding the island.

3) Build a small cabin/dwelling.

4) Purchase several (at least 4) generators, multiple spools of wires and piping.

5) Several portable water purifiers

6) Solar panels and wind turbines

7) Bury a large tank and fill it with gasoline that can be pumped

By as much ammunition as humanly possible

10) Purchase a short wave radio

11) Plenty of fishing supplies

12) As much canned goods as can be obtained

13) Several cases of waterproof matches

14) 1 speed boat, two outboard motors, and two pontoon boats

15) Several cases of medical supplies


* obviously there would be more but thats the jist of it. From the ohio, I could reach most parts of the country with out ever setting foot on land.

looking at the lists, im pritty good as i am without any major plans, i would probally just have a trip to the shop

Task 1: Find a gun
Task 2: Pack up some food
Task 3: Don't forget semtex + a crap load of c4
Task 4: Find the nearest nuclear bomb and set if off - if im going to die im taking them with me > : )

Okay, people, this is gonna get fairly detailed, and it is also assuming I've had no time to prepare, since these sort of epidemics spread fast and are often misunderstood or misreported until it is too late:
[1]Call everyone I know and make sure they are taking proper precautions (not going into detail of what those are, but basically seeing everyone was fortified and well-stocked).
[2] Pick the locks of the dorm in which I reside and take the following(if dorm has become overrun I use the shower curtain rod in my bathroom as a weapon):
---Outdoors backpack
---Broken-in hiking boots
---Bandanna
---Map (Of both NYC and the Eastern seaboard)
---Compass
---Ear plugs
---30ft of 1/4 inch nylon rope
---Small flashlight with adequate batteries
---Poncho
---Canned goods (Dry goods require water or dehydrate)
---Small pocket mirror
---Sleeping bag
---First-aid kit
---Hand-held, hand-cranked radio with ear buds
---Crowbar*
---Bolt cutters*
---Billy club*
---Machete*
---Sharpener
---Bike
---Tire pump
(The * means I could get these from our janitorial/guard/gardening staff).
[3] Once fully stocked and packed, I'd make my way outside of the building and ride my bike though less crowded, lesser-populated suburbs of NYC (a bike is more maneuverable in car-filled streets and can be carried if needed). I'd then make my way to Nec's place, stopping by desolate gas stations on roads and not in towns/cities for food and water. I'd camp out for a few days there while stocking up on gas and supplies for a longer trip to my home in Arizona.
[4] Depending on if Nec and his family are well-fortified or travel with me, I'd exchange the bike for as many four-wheelers as I could find (it being the suburbs with lots of hills and uncrowded roads with bored, middle-class kids, I'd find at least three). I would then stock up on adequate supplies along with gas and start my way to Arizona, following the same procedure as before in only stopping at road-side stations for supplies.
[5] Upon arriving in Arizona, I'd take my remaining family and travel to Horseshoe Lake (40 mins from my home but very desolate), taking the back dirt roads until reaching the small campgrounds in the high mountains. There's farmland, running water, rudimentary supplies, and livestock. We'd use that as our base/home, making trips into the city only for medical supplies, weaponry, and other necessities.

we have a large metal building {we call it the shop} where we store stuff at my home

Step 1: Move all high-speed internet supplies to shop as well as computer
Step 2: Get what ever guns and ammo i can {most likely wont use it}
Step 3: Setup all entertainment devices and pack as much food as possible
Step 4: Setup all wood cutting machines {band-saws, etc...} to be easy access to turn on at any time
Step 5: get comfortable, put your feet up and relax

yeah lol, im more of a sword guy and we keep several out in our shop 8D

the shop has only 4 doors {2 of which can only be opened from the inside, they're big metal ones that roll up to the ceiling}and plenty of stuff to use as a barricade

although i live so far away from any large amounts of people i would only have to fight off like 10 zombies XD

1Get a long katana and a rapid fire machine gun and a flame-thrower (:<
2Get lots of food and water
3go to a small tropical island ouut in the ocean and take my family with me
4create a zombie undead bomb (it eliminates ALL zombies in the world)
5Use a electric flaming fence around the island to avoid any zombies getting in
6Have auto-matic turrets be stations almost everywhere
7create coconut robot army that will protect us
8get high speed internet so we stay intact with eachother
9Create a new world wide power source
10A boat with maching guns, flamethrowers, and a rocket launcher
11Get ALL medical supplies we need to survive us for about 20 more years
When my bomb takes out most of the zombies and my army starts killing the zombies i will set off my 2nd and 3rd bombs on them making way to you guys getting u supplies if needed and giveing u guys extra ammo

so yeah after those bombs and the zombies are dead its my chance to rule the world so yeah.......but also i will have that katana and when i am heading to u guys (or my island) i willl SLICE through those zombies..hehe thats my SMALL zombie plan...

urk at LEAST i live in a small town (and it seems like my parent's closet and room are full of weaponry and my dad is an excellent swordsman so no zombies will be toutching me any time soon

so r u gettin the replies u wanted, or did u want somethin more L4D based?? cuz, personally, i didnt read one that i felt was L4D based =|. just wonderin =|

i'd probably be a zombie before i could get anything together.
however, if i were to survive for a period of time, i would need the following:

1. couple cases of Crown Royal.
2. extra hollowpoints for my old .22.
3. some bandaids for boo boos.
4. a melee weapon of some sort, preferably sharp.
5. a friend or two might help.
6. seeds...lots and lots of seeds.
7. batteries
8. flashlights
9. cheese
10. water containers.

ummm...yeah that's about it

i guess its a good thing we live 1 hr away from eachother LOL

I am getting the replies I wanted. I want to hear what YOU think. What YOU think is the best thing to do in these times.

Having force powers and lightsabers are pretty effective against zombies....however, no one has them.

So I want to hear what YOUR zombie plan is!!!

To everyone else,

Well it depends on the type of zombies for me. If its the kind from L4D, then:

1) Stock up on ammo, food, and water
2) Find faithful companions
3) Search for safehouses with other survivors
4) Aim, shoot, kill, kill, kill some more

If it's the Solanum Virus infected zombies (the REAL threat) then:

1) Get a good ranged weapon, preferably a semi-auto assault rifle.
2) Get a good melee weapon like a machete
3) Isolate the virus and try to find a drug/procedure to make a vaccine
4) Keep a vehicle, like a motorcycle, with me at all times
5) Find a single safe-house
6) Try to digest the mort flesh to survive XD jk

And finally the voodoo zombies (these actually exist btw):

1) Try to get them to remember their former lives, so they die off
2) Keep a small gun, just for good measure
3) Find the witch who is turning people into these zombies and kill her/him/it

If u like zombies I highly recommend this book. It contains standard procedure in all sorts of outbreaks, and really nice zombie attack stories:

Yea, they were originally created as sort of working slaves, but the procedure of making them is quite horrific. It's hard to believe someone would do something like that just to get slaves who don't complain. @_@

Yes, my husband did some research about that

he told me there's a movie about that too

L4D style zombies:
1. Gather a team.
2. Load weapons (semi auto rifle, smg, few backup pistols, Non-bolt action sniper, small melee weapons for all) and supplies (food, water, juice, flashlights, etc.)
3. Locate safezone (on a map)
4. Kill everything in the way in order to get to the safe zone
5. Live happily ever after.

Solanum Virus Zombies:
Gather up a special team. (specialists for each kind of weapon)
Find full body armor and good guns and ammo (Most likely a good semi automatic rifle for me)
Good transport (probably bikes or a flying vehicle such as plane/heli)
Locate closest military complex and make the way there.
When we get there: Load up, seek help and organize hunting teams and defense teams.
Fight and live until safe to return home.

Voodoo zombies: just get a lighter, light a piece of wood on fire, burn them slightly and watch them run in fear.

oohh... i like the plants vs. zombies theme & way of dealin with the pests. first off clear my yard.
1-2. then i guess id just start collectin sunflowers, potatoe mines, repeaters, lilypads(if & only if i have to be in a pooled area), spikeweeds, pumpkins, tallnuts(not of fan of tallnuts, but theyre a pretty tough defense LOL), magnet shroom, melonpult, & twin sunflower(upgrade purposes, upgrades the sunflower). that can take care of the first couple of flags.
3-8/10. after that id change the formation entirely, its time to start upgradin LOL. here goes: fume shroom, lilypads, pumpkins, spikeweeds, coffee beans(only purpose wake up shrooms, notice my magnet shrooms r asleep), twin sunflower (im still upgradin sunflowers =|), cattails (upgrades empty lilypads), winter melons (upgrades melon-pults), gattlin peas (upgrades repeaters), spikerock (upgrades the spike weed). this formation will most likely be used for maybe 3 or 4 couples of flags.
9/11+. then i would have to change it again but now im only reenforcin my defensive lines: cherry bombs, squashs, jalapeños, spikeweeds, pumpkins, imitator (wierd lookin seed that imitates any seed i choose) pumpkin, kernel-pult, gloom shroom (upgrades fume shroom), spikerocks, cob cannon (upgrades kernel-pults, must have 2 in one row). like mentioned above after this im most likely to just rebuild. i dont know why zombies can get pretty cheap after a while =|. maybe somewhere down the line when bungee zombies show up ill use umbrella leaves to make sure my twin sunflowers dont get hurt from above =P.

if it were any other type of zombie, i think...... id..... i dont know, id have to think of somethin =|

ok brain eating zombies:
-Board up my entire house and have a tunnel from the house to my garage so i can get supplies
-stock up as much as i can
-buy a couple generators
-get some weapons such as some assault rifles(M16A4/AK47/M4A1)a good sniper and some handguns. Bow and arrown and a couple machetes/swords
-make sure i have some close friends with me
-outlive the virus

Here's a question to you SilentOne

From what I gathered, brain eatng zombie cannot be killed by the simple remove the head method. So guns ouldn;t do much good in that case though.

and what if the ones close to you starting to change?

Oh!! Don't forget about the hemocytes (the zombies from I Am Legend)

Cuz they're not actually dead. They have a working brain, heart, lungs etc. They have feelings, memories, senses and reason. Thee kinds of zombies are really hard to plan against so....

1) Search for food, supplies, survivors during the day.
2) Lock every door in the safe-house at night
3) Again, isolate the virus strain and try to develop a vaccine.
4) If all else fails, move to the Yukon (this virus can't survive in the cold)

i think my plant plan works out pretty neat too. any kind of zombie is gonna fall against my plants =P

thats why i got machetes to chop em up and if the ones close to me start to change then ill throw them in the woodchipper

how about settin them on fire??
