While it is true we have had some rubbish sitcoms, We have probably had some of the best that have done well internationally.

Off the top of my head

Monty Python
Fawlty Towers
Red Dwarf
The Office
Black Adder
Only Fools and Horses
Little Britain
Absolutely Fabulous

Sadly a lot of these have been attempted in US to be a remake and have failed horribly being scraped after a few episodes.

But most have been huge international successes.

While they may not be everyones cup of tea if you do not like any of the above then I suggest you are better off giggling at Rick Astley :)

I don't like The Office in american and british version... it just seems to random to catch on.. plus I think it is just a waste. :)

Well The office isn't for everyone.

The US version is actually not a bad remake (where it was remade that is) although still a bit more watered down for me. Plus Sadly Rick Scott or whatever his name was wasn't a David Brent which was the key masterpeice. But I do like the Office US edition in its own right.

In fact I am not keen on a few of the sitcoms I mentioned about myself but they are a success in their own right. So thought i would use a good example.

But I like several US sitcoms and not others.

Well with your thorough knowledge of the sitcoms you will know it was a British sitcom although from the 70s.

Never seen it myself!

lol considering they only play american sitcoms on my american TV set, I have absolutely no knowledge of any british sitcoms, nor do I watch that many sitcoms anyways, just when I am bored and there is not much else on
I do like the sitcoms posted above though (who wouldn't?)

On another note, what exactly is a sitcom? how would you explain it? (connotations, not dennotations please lol, I know how to wiki)

Rick Astley bred and gave birth to your favourite joke.

Without him you'd have no soul and your post count would halve.

Google him and you will see what I mean.
