since my computer was running like crap i searched google to figure out how to speed it up. i followed 2 guides from someone and now it runs pretty well. he also suggested using an internet optimizer to speed up my connection. i donwloaded 2 different optimizers and ran them both, and it seems a litle faster, but not much of a difference.

if anyone has any experience on how to optimize and interent connection, help would be much appreciated.

heres my internet analysis from TCP/IP Analyzer:

If you want a faster computer; get new parts. If you want faster internet; get a new provider that can give you faster internetz.

What exactly did the guide tell you to do? some guides while seem helpful enough end up turning off certain things like services which you kinda need.. so you need to be careful..

I used Tcp doctor once which did improve my speeds some bit before, by changing tcp window and mtu but its a bit ambiguous since some things dont work too well when your changing MTU sizes, certain ISPs like AOL for example like your MTU to remain 1400. also part of my problem was down to a crappy usb modem which was erradicated when we got a router

the guide said to use the program to edit theregistry based on a certain internet speed. so i was clocked at 2500 kbps, so i set it to that and it changed a bunch of values in the registry to acomodate that
