Keeps closing on me at random points, no error message, when I start it back up and restore the last session it usually closes the same page I was trying to access so basically theres something that doesnt like certain pages (not naughty sites, for example myspace, browsing happily click something loads the page and poof it doesnt like it and its all gone)
This is annoying the hell outta me!
It really is!
Ive had a browse around on the net for solutions but cant really seem to find anything =/
Help me please?

Anyone?
I think its to do with adverts on pages, for example, firefox will never close on this site and this site has no adverts, something like myspace has a lot of adverts so Im guessing that if I were to refresh a page it would close when it generated a new advert which firefox (or whatever is causing this) doesnt like.
Anyone have ANY ideas?

Have you tried to remove the program and obtain the latest download and re install.
Also run a spyware removal tool/ check

I have run:
AVG
Ad-aware
Spybot
Ashampoo
All picked up a few bits but then again I hadnt scanned in about a week so that was to be expected, I did remove it and re-install also.
As to the newest edition I have just this hour updated it to the latest cause it came up and asked me.
Since upgrading it has closed once or twice but I have not browsed all that much

i heard actually new firefox is having problems :s
what do other browsers give you?
try opera thats a good one
IE isnt that good and id avoid safari also, both seem to have their faults and safari seems to want to make the screen look blurred

safari isnt bad, but dont use opera. they bogged it down with so much useless crap that after about a week it wont run at all and itll take 3 hours to load this page.
safari slows down a bit sometimes, but oherwise its good, the weird thig is if u minimize it,when u re-maximize it, it resets to this little windows, so u have to hit the fullscreen button again which gets annoying

Haven't used Opera for a while now, but when I last checked it was actually the fastest browser overall in the ratings... might have changed now though, altough I used FF for years..
That safari though is awful, feels like your using a 15 year old monitor with all those fuzzy blurred web pages.. It is unfortunateley one of those things between ms and apple, Its probably brilliant on Mac and not very good on PC, just the same as itunes and quicktime.

Mel, when you say what do other browsers give me? I assume you mean do other browsers close on me as well, the answer is no, it is only firefox which does it.
I am not interested in using opera or safari or anything else other than firefox because since I have had it I have had no problems and it has been completely reliable, also you said there was a fault with the new firefox, the problem began to occur before I received the new one so this is not the cause.
One last thing, keep it on topic please, I dont want to read another thread which turns into a debate about what is better. I just need a solution to my problem please if you guys have any other ideas I'd be extremely grateful!
Reward for helping me: A kiss
On second thoughts that may put you off, how about a beverage of alcoholic content?

opera running slow for me is probably part my computer, idk, nothing runs that fast for me now anyway.
i dont know wut u mean by blurred images, i havent noticed it yet, but maybe i will soon, idk.

I wasnt trying to stray it off topic, just wanted to make a suggestion of alternatives and which ones to choose..
Okay well my sister would probably have a better idea but shes not around much at the minute, very busy at work.
but all i can suggest would be
1) make sure all componants of FF are removed fully, including plugins and perhaps remove java and flash clients also.
2) reinstall an older version
3) Check application event log obtain source error and either check it on Eventid.net.. you may find something else yuou have installed is causing the problem..
4) Submit the error code from event log to Mozilla fora.

It wasnt aimed at you dont worry lol
She already posted here and hopefuly will find more time to do so again ^_^
I will later try to delete everything firefox wise from my computer later and try a reinstall of the latest, if this fails I will try to get an older version, if this still does not work I will try the other things you have suggested, thanks so far
