Well my firewall was being an ass. I just needed to set it up properly. The firewall is so good that it was not allowing meto obtain the server data. I just set the rules for it.

Do you have firewall for your PC Saun? If you need help i can talk you through it via MSN or teamspeak.

You know what... I have no idea XD

Hes had his room redecorated so I have to access to his computer until everything is put back, hopefully 2 weeks.

I imagine it is basic windows firewall or w/e you get with the comp.

Its going to be difficult to solve the problem if your at access when we make suggestions..

THings to look out for are this

1) Does he connect through a router??? he may need to forward the ports from the router to his computer. A Lot of routers are clever enough to do this automatically now

2) is there another firewall or security suite (this is most likeley) to be where a rule or acceptance needs to be made.

3) Does he have the patch for JA installed

4) Do other games work online?

He does connect through a router... But I do as well so I dont think the problem is there.

Im pretty sure there is no other firewall or security suite, something ill have to check.

Im 99% sure I used the patch on there yes.

When you say other online games, do you mean something like JKA or Runescape because runescape works, he doesnt play any other games online, hes more of a single player guy :P

Runescape is browser based, so it wouldn't make any difference. Chan means games like JKA, Counter-Strike etc.

Ummm... I might be about to make myself sound stupid but we use the same router cause we're in the same house

Runescape is a remote server game. It would have no bearing on your problem. I think there is a firewall which the ports have not been enabled on. I have a PC tools firewall. It happened to me.

check the router isnt forwaring ports then specifically to your computer

otherwise everytime the router recievs the data inbound from the JA server it will automatically forward it to your computer and not his
