No worries mate, and sorry about that.
In our long experience we've found those using VPN only do so to troll, after already having being banned! As this game is in real-time, where ping matters, VPN doesn't do you any favors. On rare occasions we'll allow them, for say players in a large Asian country which has a Draconian approach to the Internet.

Be aware also though, if you connect with VPN and change IPs and connect again, the server can track you back to you the source and ban that too (don't believe that VPN provides anonymity, especially on a stateless UDP socket application like JKA).
