Nintendo Switch for the win!

Totally cliche, but this is the first time in over a decade where a console has piqued my interest.

Long live Nintendo!!

This idea has been executed for a long time now, all dating back to the SEGA Dreamcast with their inclusion of VMU (the Dreamcast Memory Card) games.

One good example is Sega GT, a racing game. When playing it on the Dreamcast, you play the normal game. When you have to go out in public or something, you would take out the memory card and play an 8-bit version of the game. Screens:

Granted its not nearly as amazing as the Nintendo Switch, but many reviews on the VMU ports of original games say they had similar vibes and good gameplay that complimented the Dreamcast originals.

Dreamcast aside tho, the Nintendo Switch looks great. My only concern is framerate and battery life.

^ It's similar to how the PS1 evolved upon the Sega Genesis' CD add-on/Sega Saturn.

Nintendo's issue is it's image more than anything else.

In defense to Nintendo, it doesn't want to be in the competitive world. It doesn't want 10/10 ign ratings graphics and 1080p resolution with 60 fps gameplay. It wants to just experiment with random gimmicks. I mean, think about all of their systems.

NES:
Ayy, look what we can do

SNES: Ayy, we just improved the hell out of our old thing, and made a ton of more games for it

Gameboy: Ayy, look at dis, we made a simple SNES...THATS PORTABLE!!

Nintendo 64: Ayy, we learned about 3D models, and wanted to try them out.

Gameboy Colour: Oh wut, we can add colour to PORTABLE GAMES?!

Gamecube: Oh damn bro, we took 3D modeling to the next level! Granted SEGA beat us to the punch, but look, its a gamecube...its cubical...CUBICAL!

Gameboy Advance: Oh damn, we just made a NEW PORTABLE SYSTEM THAT IS BETTER THAN THE SNES....AND ITS PORTABLE

Gameboy SP: Not sure what we are aiming for here, but we added a flipper...might want to expand on this idea later in life...oh, and Ayy, we added a LIGHT SOURCE, HOOOOOOOO

Nintendo Wii: Ayy, we did motion controls, now you can be walking and playing...walking and playing. You can also shake your hands and stuff, and it reflects the gameplay...4D!!!

Nintendo DS: I have an advance...I have a Gameboy... uh. Gameboy Advance. I have a Wii...I have a Nintendo...uh, Nintendo Wii. Gameboy Advance, Nintendo Wii..uh, Nintendo DS. (Side note, finally found a use for that flipper)

Nintendo DS Lite: Could be a bit smaller tho...that's better.

Nintendo 3DS: Woaaaaah, its 3D!!!, and you can move the device around...like a Wii remote!!! Woah!! Also it can play NINTENDO 64 GAMES!!!

Nintendo Wii U: Ey yo, lets try making a new Wii, but with a big tablet instead of a remote...nevermind the specs of it, just rerelease the wii with a tablet.

Nintendo New 3DS: Oh damn, how the hell is this portable? This thing can play damn Wii games oh snap...should we port Wii games to it? Maybe a ton of more people will buy it?...Nah, lets release more 64 games.

Nintendo Switch: Alright, hold up, why didn't we release Wii games for the New 3DS again? What the hell are we doing? Port all Wii U games to portable, now! On second thought, scratch that, LETS MAKE A NEW SYSTEM SOULY BASED ON PORTABLITY.

I hope Nintendo will be great again! This new console gonna be very successful, I hope. This year is very rich with new devices from all companies!
