Your top 5 Star Wars characters?

O/ Thought it'd be interesting to find out who everyone's top 5 favourite characters were!

I'll start!

Number 1: Qui-Gon Jinn

Image

Qui-Gon Jinn is my favourite Star Wars character of all time, because I like his maverick ways and he isn't bound by the shackles of the Jedi Order. He acts on instinct, staying focused in the moment. He was a true servant of the force, acting primarily on what the force tells him, even if that means defying the Jedi Order itself. He was a great Jedi, his understanding and connection of the force arguably surpassing the likes of Yoda and Mace Windu. He's also played by Liam Neeson.

Number 2: Obi-Wan Kenobi

Image

To me, Obi-Wan Kenobi is the perfect Jedi. He embodies everything the Jedi code stands for and holds a great connection to the force. His fighting style is very Jedi like as well. Using Soresu, he's constantly on the defense, using the force to guide where his blade goes.

Number 3: Darth Vader

Image

The original Dark Lord and one of the greatest villains in cinematic history, Darth Vader will always remain a favourite of mine. He more than made up for all his supposed 'weaknesses' and turned them all into strengths. Vader's cunning and calculating mind added with his monstrous power made him nearly unstoppable.

Number 4: Bastila Shan

Image

When playing KOTOR Bastila quickly became one of my favourites. She was always the most interesting companion, Jolee Bindo being a close second. Her legacy lived on even 300 years after the events of KOTOR. In fact Bastila's decendant, Satele Shan, became Jedi Grandmaster.

Number 5: Anakin Skywalker

Image

Anakin Skywalker was a recent favourite of mine, in fact I used to hate his character. However now that I have greater knowledge and understanding of Skywalker's character, I've come to understand that Anakin was the victim and that his story is just tragic and sad. Without Palpatine's influence Anakin would have never turned to the dark side and he would have become the greatest Jedi to have ever lived.

That concludes my list!

Note: I consider Anakin and Vader to be two different people.

Your turn!

NUMBER 1
Image
Luke Skywalker, Co-Chosen one, is my number one pick because of his skill and patience, by ROTJ. He demonstrated how to meet Vader strength to strength while keeping emotionally intact. He's incredibly fast, very smart on his bladework. He's what Anakin should have been and, though this is perhaps the hardest list ever, is my number one pick.

NUMBER 2
Image
Darth Vader makes second place on my list, because of his story and skill. He is parallel to Luke but opposite in many ways. His choice of saber styles and Force abilities are renowned. I like on how the mere walk of Vader is deliberate and demonstrates the authority of the Empire. The fearsome warrior is a master of the blade, compensating for his clumsy suit by adopting the style of Makashi. He is also the Chosen one for number two.

NUMBER 3
Image
Similar to what Zaluk posted, Obi-wan is in my opinion, the model and best Jedi ever to exist. His philosophies, lightsaber, everything reflects the Jedi in him. He has suffered a tremendously large amount of tragedies and did what Jedi should do: Let go. Let go of what you fear to lose. Obi-wan is the perfect Jedi and a skillful one at that. '' Not a master, Obi-wan, the master '' - Mace Windu to Obi-wan on his use of Soresu.

NUMBER 4
Image
Kyle Katarn has a amazing story. A story of loss, fighting for good, temptation, and victory. Not only is he easily the most skillful character on my list, but he has, I think, one of the most dramatic stories ever. As opposed to most Jedi, Kyle regularly implements blasters and tech with his Jedi techniques. It makes him dangerously unpredictable and has made him a mass killing machine. I wouldn't say he is the best Jedi out there, but he can certainly fight most if not all to a standstill!

NUMBER 5
Image
Jace Malcom was the very core reason I started to play Star wars: The Old Republic. He brought value in people other than Jedi and Sith. As a matter of fact, he proved that a mortal can kill a Force user. It's a matter of skill and courage. Will and courage gleam through him like a lightbulb. He is a true inspiration and living proof that you don't have to be a Jedi to beat one!

Gonna start from 5 down to 1 for more suspense *cracks knuckles*

Number 5 Iziz
Image

Iziz is the hardworking jawa of the family plotting ways on how to rid the planet of those pesky tusken raiders, he manipulated Revan into saving his own people as well as infiltrating the tusken raiders base and slaughtering them all

Number 4 R2-D2 Capturer
Image.

This jawa was one of the most cunning jawa's i've ever seen, he carefully waited for his target to approach while concealing himself behind rocks camoflaguing with his robes. a true assassin matched only by the likes of darth maul or altair.

Evidence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJPUt1Fsy14 (contains bad language in subtitles)

Number 3 LEGO Jawa
Image

I know what you're all thinking, LEGO? really jawa? that's not even canon! Well you're wrong okay i've seen so many cannons in LEGO Star Wars it's not funny LEGO Jawa makes number 3 cause he is the most athletic jawa of them all with the ability to take on a droid army with one finger, his trigger finger.

Number 2 Blizz
Image

I don't know much about Blizz yet, except he's my soulmate! and that's more than enough reason to make number 2 on my all time favourite star wars characters!

Number 1 Jar Jar Binks
Image

You're crazy if you didn't expect Jar jar to be at the top I mean, he's the greatest sithlord of all time, he manipulated one of the most powerful sith ever into doing his bidding (Emperor Palpatine). He mindtricked several people on his journey with Qui-gon jinn but why explain this in words see for yourself

I told Zal I might make a proper one and i'm bored sooooo in descending order.

Number 5 Jolee Bindo
Image

This guy is by far my favourite companion in The Old Republic series. He's hilarious, witty, old and very wise he's the main reason I play KOTOR most of the time. I'd love to see a book about how he randomly shows up out of no where and destroys Scourge, and about his events that took place after KOTOR but mostly the Scourge thing.

Check out this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBSMuVU_WUI

Number 4 HK-47
Image

Yeah i'm going with another KOTOR character what of it >:c ehem! HK-47 is well the greatest droid companion, he's funny, deadly and knows the meaning of love. Everything you want in a best friend! Image

More reasons to love this droid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vg1gTas7OAA

Number 3 Darth Maul
Image

As a child I always loved this guy no matter how terrified I was, in fear I respected him and years later after talking with my good friend Zal. I realise how great he really is. from one encounter with Qui-gon Jinn he devised a strategy to tire him out with pure defense and focus on dividing and conquering both Qui-gon and Obi wan. Except Obi wan cheated and stole Qui-gon's saber! ehem that's why he makes number 3

Number 2 Han Solo
Image

Not really much to say here, he's a lovable smuggler with a great actor playing him and he shot first! but not fast enough to make number 1...

Number 1 Meetra Surik
Image
Love this person she's such an interesting, powerful character who had a sad pathetic death who needs to be avenged no matter what Zaluk says! Like I said in the Meetra vs Qui-gon post I believe her to be slightly better or equal to Revan the man who can destroy planets with his foots- nope can't say it, it's so stupid silly fanboys. She is the key to the destruction of the force which is inconceivable thinking how vast the force is, and has beaten her own master the infamous Kreia/Traya the one who brought the galaxy to its very knees, to think Meetra was backstabbed by someone like scourge is insulting :'(

So that's my official list! and not a jawa in sight.. rip

Mine are in no particular order and I don't really favour one over the other.

Revan & Meetra Surik

Image

Ever since playing The Old Republic games these two have been favourites of mine, both of them military geniuses, both very intelligent and quick to learn, both having exceptional charisma and leadership skills (if you decided to put your skill points into that stat), and both very skilled duelists.

Plo Koon

Image

I think Plo Koon has always been a favourite of mine, and to those of you who might remember I even used that name on JKA for my first couple weeks roughly 3+ yrs ago when I started playing. Considered level-headed and unflappably calm, and also one of the wisest in the Jedi Order. He was concerned deeply with all forms of life, and cared greatly for those under his command.

"Sergeant, why are you so certain no one is coming?"
"We're just clones, sir. We're meant to be expendable."
"Not to me." - Plo to Sgt. Sinker

Cipher Nine

Image

Don't wanna post spoilers for SWTOR so I'll just toss in something from Nine's wiki: Cipher Nine was an incredibly skilled agent. Capable of exhibiting calmness and even charming behavior, they were a highly dangerous individual. Cold, calculating, and ruthless, the agent demonstrated skills in combat and manipulation. Their skills extended into assassination, espionage, manipulation, seduction, hand-to-hand and ranged combat. Cipher Nine honed years of training and personal skill to the point when they are able to switch from blasters to knifes in a second in battle. The skills this agent had were remarkable and stood out to me.

Cipher Nine's ship?

Image

Couldn't think of a fifth person to put on this list so have this instead, the best ship in SWTOR. Behold its sleek design and beauty! It's so far ahead of its time that mass production would be impossible, as a result it's entrusted to only the most professional, cordial, and responsible agents.

Although I am not a very hardcore SW fan, I can appreciate many of it's characters on a literary level. With that in mind, I find these 5 most interesting.

5. Obi-Wan Kenobi

Image

Perhaps the most devout and loyal jedi of this list, Obi-Wan had a strong commitment to the order, but was not afraid of sharing his own ideas among his contemporaries. As has been stated before, he framed his life under the ideal doctrine of the jedi, to always act with defensive caution, but extend a sensitive hand in diplomacy wherever possible. The longevity of his resolve and capacity to understand others made him the perfect teacher for the next character on my list.

4. Luke Skywalker

Image

What might make Luke one of the most unique jedi of all time was the trials of his circumstances. His father being the instrument of terror and desctruction all across the galaxy, and the Old Jedi Order buried under twenty years of imperial dominion, it is hard to believe someone of Luke's upbringing would rise to build the New Jedi Order. He built it with the firm principles he picked up not only from the elder generation of Obi-Wan and Yoda, but from his contemporary companions, who showed him the power of loyalty and a just cause. He was a self-made jedi, and one with the compassion not only to resist the dark side, but do what Obi-Wan never could, which was turn his father back to the light.

3. Qui-Gon Jinn

Image

While it was Luke who turned Darth Vader away from the dark side, it was Qui-Gon who predicted that Anakin Skywalker would ultimately save the galaxy. Unlike Luke, who was removed from the group mentality of the jedi order, Qui-Gon was active during a period of great activity in the Old Jedi Order. He was a critical thinker and a scholar of the living force in his own right, who would even defy the council to uphold his most sacred principles. He had the courage to dissent, and the wisdom to remain level-headed, and segregate the aggression of battle with the serenity of mind. Although he is the last Jedi on my list, he is certainly one of great prestige.

2. Count Dooku/Darth Tyrranus

Image

The master of Qui-Gon Jinn, and a once-heralded member of the jedi order, Count Dooku was an individualist if I've even seen one. He felt that the Jedi Order's unyielding loyalty to it's own dogma had been it's demise, and that in order to truly perform the greater good, a new approach was in order. While he would keep the jedi ideals of emotional level-headedness and tactical consideration paramount in his later years, the spearhead of Count Dooku's future was his rejection of irrational dogma. Instead, he would set forth to learn the darker mysteries of the force, and utilize them, along with the light he had learned from the order, to advance his goals of reforming the galaxy under new leadership. A calculated, complicated, and contentious man, Count Dooku was an indispensable ally of the jedi and later an undeniable threat to it's security.

1. Kreia/Darth Traya

Image

One trend you might have noticed in my list is a receding attachment to group ideology and thought. All of these characters represented distinct individual aspects which made them stand out among the crowds of SW characters, and no one more readily takes the championship title of this archetype than Kreia. While all the people of this list differed in their utilization of the force, they all felt it necessary and enjoyed the foresight it afforded them in their lives. Kreia is distinct from them all, in hating the force, and the way it picks the winners of the galaxy to puppet all beings for the grand show of history. She was a critical thinker of boundless observational skill, and a tactical player in intergalactic affairs just as much as she was a philosopher. I find greatest sympathy for her struggles as I would a swimmer drowning in the ocean. Like one that despises the hopelessness of his watery surrounding, but ultimately uses it to climb into the air, Kreia uses the force in bitter contempt to afford her the freedom she so desires, shown in every instance of her fascinating life.

RC-1138 - "Boss"
Image

Galen Marek - "Starkiller" (are you kidding me, he's literally one of the most BA dudes in all of starwars ever)

last two are kinda cop-outs but they're still some of my favorite star wars characters

Kyle Katarn & Jaden Korr

5. BB-8
4. Darth Vader
3. Kenobi
2. Quinlan Vos

1. Ezra
While a newer character, he is an amazing character and jedi. Trained by Kanan, a padawan who survived order 66, Ezra is depicted as swiftly learning the ways of the force. He has an ability to communicate with animals unlike any other jedi, and is shown developing the skill. He's even survived multiple battles against sith inquisters and Darth Vader himself.

So far my favourite are:
5) Kylo Ren
Image

I always enjoyed characters that had been scarred emotionally due to life experiences, that were unpredictable, unstable yet villaneous. Kylo Ren is defenitely one of those characters, infact I liked many characters from ep.7 like Poe Dameron and if he had been given more time on screen he would be on this list but unfortunately he wasnt, so i had to choose another that i enjoyed watching evolve as a character. the scene on the bridge were he talks to his father Han about being torn apart really convinced me. Adam Driver is a talented actor, whether Ben meant what he said we wont know yet, but sure as hell I had began to believe his words.
4) Maul
Image

When i first watched ep1, despite i thought it was a boring movie at the age of 3, i did like Maul. His silence was intriguing and the fact that he was like a beast but he kept control of his emotions, so i liked that. I liked him even more during Clone Wars as he had more dialogue and he had also changed as a person after losing half of himself, so he became fuelled by vengeance which is cool. His reaction to his brothers death did make me feel much sad, it showed me that after all even a person like Maul has feelings. Once again when he returned in Rebels i freaked out because he literally says to be a dark side user...but not a sith. I never liked the siths rule of the two but i liked their philosophy and of course the dark side.
3) Darth Vader/Luke Skywalker
Image

Who didnt love the relationship between Vader and Luke when watching SW for the first time? Its such a strong story which delves deep into their souls. The whole quest to redeem this robotic, tall, black figure felt like an impossible challenge for me as a kid and i thought Luke would fail or die but he succeeded. Luke finally converted his father to goodness and that was, certainly expected, but quite surprising. Luke is probably any teenager in the world: ambitious, arrogant, kind and cocky but as he grows he matures learning the real struggle of life. Vader is the classic person who wont look back to the past to forget his mistakes and will wear a mask of shadow to cover his real emotions. Its difficult for me to express my love towards them. Their duel in ep.5 is in my opinion the best in Star Wars.
2) Revan

Image

He is literally badass, my love for Revan is as equal to Vader as their stories are very similar yet different. Vader turns away from his past after suffering deeply amd decides to lose himself in pain and anger, whilst Revan as we first meet him in Kotor, is a good man and a warrior who discovers to be the very thing that has caused thousands of deaths in the galaxy and has become the very synonym of fear. Not knowng who to be either his current self or his past self, he undergoes a terrible internal struggle until then choosing to be the man he must be.
1) Han Solo

Image

I like this guy just a tiny bit more than Revan. He is a pirate, a scoundrel, a smuggler but a hero as well. One of the things i would think is also iconic to Star Wars apart the sound, the effects and the story is the comedy. The comedy which is brought up by Han Solo. I would always die of intense laughter because of him and i still do. I cried when he was frozen in carbonite because even if he behaved like a dick (in a funny way tho) he was also a mam who would always be there for his friends, loyal to the end. He was very courageous when being placed on the carbonite platform as he knew he could have died yet he faced the chance of death with much courage. Han Solo is really special to me as he is to my father. My father watched Star Wars back in 1977 and he was blown away by the story and the visual effects and just as with myself Han Solo had a certain influence on my father. Whenever I look at my mom and dad i think about Han and Leia, a thought which i have to admit, moves me a little.
His evolution as a character in ep.7 is so surprising, seeing how Han internalised his pain and grief of having lost his son and his life with Leia, with the usual jokes and sassy responses, made me think that he is equally strong and in pain. Yes he may not be powerful as Luke, Revan or Vader but i think it is rare to see a man walking face to face with a foe far more superior than you, knowing he would mean the death of you. Han Solo gathered much courage and strength when facing his son Ben, one last time.
I miss you Han.
