Anakin Skywalker vs Darth Maul

A match I'm not to sure on, I'd like to hear other peoples thoughts!

I think Anakin would win. Anakin might have trouble. Even more trouble if Savage was with Maul, but I don't think someone with Anakin's kind of power would have trouble with him. Especially after Anakin took the head off one of the greatest Jedi duelist alive earlier in ROTS. I can see where Darth Maul could cause some damage to him especially with the kind of rage that fuels Maul. Whether it's a duel of swords or The Force I think Anakin would still prevail.

I'm going to have to go with Maul. Them being so evenly matched and all, I always side with the smarter, more tactical fighter.

I honestly would say Maul. Maul was able to easily dispose of Jedi when he returned from exile. Obi-Wan had to be saved a couple times before getting killed by Maul. And Sidious had to personally kill Maul and Savage to stop them from interfering with his plans. Obi-Wan did defeat ROTS Anakin, so... Maul > ROTS Anakin?

Maul wasn't killed he was captured to try and lure out his mother Talzin, his deathwatch friends rescued him and they escaped long story short sidious ended up killing Talzin and Maul escaped with his life, so he's very much alive just don't know where he is now.

Anakin FTW for me. Even before ROTS he was able to go toe to toe with Dooku in AOTC, in the Novel AOTC he is much more impressive and he even impresses Dooku during their fight. It may just be me but I think Maul is no where near Dooku's level so this fact alone makes me feel Anakin would win.

I know Qui Gon was stabbed by Maul, which pushed Obi to Anger and Fear of his Master's death, but Obi did beat Maul one v one at the Padawan level.

In my mind, Anakin in ROTS would defeat Maul overall.

I'm slightly leaning towards Anakin. He should be slightly more skilled and he has more raw power. A case could be made for Maul winning though.

I don't think it's fair to bring up Obi-Wan vs Maul from episode 1, considering that Maul still beat Obi-Wan, even when Kenobi was fueled by rage and Maul only fell due to arrogance and overconfidence, something he's not likely to do again. While Anakin could hold his own in episode 2, sources have stated he was no match for Dooku. Also, Maul is certainly near Dooku's level, for sure.

Also, Anakin lost to Obi-Wan mainly because he was emotionally conflicted, similar to how Vader was in episode 6. He wasn't sure if he could go through with killing his best friend. Under normal circumstances I'd say Obi-Wan vs Anakin would be a draw, because of how familiar they are with each others styles.

Saying Anakin would lose to Maul because Maul got the upper hand on Kenobi and Kenobi beat Anakin is kinda flawed anyway, they're all completely different fighters. That being said, I'd back Anakin slightly.

Fair or not, I feel like a Jedi using things such as "Anger" to fuel their abilities is common, it's what happens after that makes them wiser.. If Maul was arrogant and lost to Obi as such, whos to say it wouldnt happen again. This also states that Maul is arrogant always. Anakin is crafty with the force, he would find a way to defeat Maul.

Anakin is just unnaturally stronger in the Force than Maul. Anakin would defeat him. Palpatine also saw this. He was through with maul. He served his purpose and replaced him. He knew Anakin's strength and was one of his objectives to conquering the galaxy.

Jedi only use anger during their padawan days, it's not something they're likely to do in a regular fight, it's really not that common. Maul's not an idiot, he's not going to make the same mistake again. In fact, Maul is actually a very tactical fighter, unlike Anakin. Also, I can't recall a single time when Anakin was crafty with his use of the force, the majority of the time he's very blunt with it, mainly doing simple force pushes in a fight.

I agree Anakin would probably win, just not for the same reasons.
