Jedi Academy on Windows 10..help..?

So I may sound dumb for posting this here, like I could ask people on Yahoo or somewhere else but I'd rather have assistance with people who aren't imbeciles. I got a new laptop today, it runs Windows 10. I installed Jedi Academy earlier and when I tried to launch it, it crashed. A thing popped up and said that my resolution was too big. So I changed my resolution and it still crashes, so people with Windows 10 help me only please. I hope this issue is solved soon, thanks guys.

I don't know about Windows 10, but maybe right-clicking it, properties, compatibility, then select something like "run in resolution 640x480".

Can we have the exact error message, word for word? A screenshot of the crash, and if the log it generates. Edit your base\jampconfig.cfg and at the bottom add the line: -
seta logfile "1"
and get the qconsole.log in base and copy/paste it here. It should not contain any sensitive data, but always vet it first!

Hey! Try this fix!

1. Go to the GLDirect page on SourceForge. Download gldirect5_opensource.zip.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gldirect/
2. Extract the contents. Go to the gldirect5\bin\release folder.

3. Copy opengl32.dll to your GameData folder.

4. Play the game!!

Before you replace your original opengl32.dll make a backup copy of it on your desktop in case this does not fix your problem. If it does not simply place your original back in your gamedata folder and you are back to square one.

I had this same issue with my copy of the game but it was from steam. If you do not have the steam issue I can not guarantee this will fix your problem.

Much luck!

Just a quick warning, I always get concerned when people post solutions when we have no idea what the problem is. "Hmmm, I see a lump there where I wasn't expecting one - just wait a moment while I fetch my scalpel - trust me, I'm a surgeon."

Following some of those suggestions could really screw up your computer (like say randomly dropping in a library without an installer), and break other things which are working. Or you may forget to reverse any processes you attempt (like say messing with the compatibility settings) which can lead to unexpected problems later - and very hard to solve because odd things where attempted. "While I'm cutting try drinking this liquid, I'm not sure what it is or what it does, but I heard others got well from it."

Edit: this is why i usually stay away from these threads...

What I told about compatibility mode is that when Windows doesn't change resolution automatically to open a game, that "run in 640x480" option usually works.

Jawfin you are completely right. Vallasura please make sure you create a backup copy of any file you are going to replace in case of any issues.

I also ran into this issue with my copy. Although mine was from steam. If his was not then I cannot be sure it will fix his problem. I edited my first post with this info.
