I mean, I could talk real spoilers here if you want me too ... so I am warning you now, for all who have not seen movie and care, do not continue reading
- - - SPOILERS BELOW - - - SORRY WE HAVE NO SPOILER TAG - - -
Only thing I really have to discuss here is:...
1. Han Solo's death wasn't just a way for him to get off screen (which is the "outside" reason) ... but it's part of becoming a sith to experience great loss. Kylo killing him made perfect sense. People were QQ'ing about that in the theater
2. don't really understand how black squadron leader escaped Jakku so easily ... like he described "how" but still, idk seemed kinda sketchy
3. The force has a constant pull towards neutrality, the fact that Rey was so easily skilled can be explained in two parts
A) natural force affinity
B) Kylo is inexperienced as a donkey (especially if Finn can freaking hold his own for like... 10 seconds)
So yeah ... so many people complained about how well Rey did with the lightsaber and blah blah blah. Well I don't really think any of those people understand how the Force works. I can't say I know all too well but it's something I've spent a lot of time reading upon, especially in literature not just informatives. There's always meant to be a balance in the force... when one side outweighs another, a seed is planted and thus fate finds its way.

I thought it was pretty dumb Rei could just pretty much destroy Kylo after she finally uses a lightsaber and discovers the force like 10 minutes before the fight, and then Kylo just gets saved right when he's about to get killed.
But I loved the shit out of that movie, my favorite star wars.

See I saw it Differently
I saw rey as somebody that has had training in the past but has turned her back on it all. that sort of stchik.
You cannot be a sith lord until you sacrifice what you love most. You cannot rise above that dark Jedi power level without it. In ren's case it was his father but more his last connection to the light his last hope of redemption. He is committed to the dark side steeped one would say. I am wondering if we have Darth Ren in the next movie. WIth the fanboy vader thing He must assume a darth title.
I am spinning from the movie 24 hours after watching it. I need to see it again.
WHO THE HELL IS REY! is she skywalkers daughter? Theres a I am your father moment in the next movie fo sure
Did han solo yell Ben when he called out to kylo on that bridge.
To early to call favorite status but prequels have been smashed for sure
wadda reckon like 15 million for one long knowing look. Mark Hamill your a pimp.

I haven't words to describe the absolute masterpiece that Abrams has crafted. I honestly think he outdid George.

Agreed, J. J. did a great job conveying that message with the sun going out and the Dark Side fully consuming Ren. However I don't think he'll pick up the mantle of Darth anytime soon. I mean Sidious and Vader were the last "Sith". Not once did we hear any mentions of Sith, just the Dark Side. Snoke references the Knights of Ren, so Kylo is probably one of, if not the highest rank among them, alluding to the fact that Sith titles might not be present in the future. This probably doesn't pertain to Snoke since Ren is just the apprentice and Han even mentioned that Snoke is just using Ren for his power, who will betray him later.

I believe this may be the case. The visions she has connected with Vader's saber is a big hint. Perhaps Luke settled down with a woman for a bit after his NJO collapsed after Ren was corrupted. As the FO rose, Luke and his wife recognized the danger and brought her to Jakku.

Yep, Kylo Ren is Ben Solo.

Yeah. Everyone's pretty much calling Rey being Skywalker's daughter. How the force flows within her and all that stuff.
And I wouldn't be surprised if Kylo's full name was Ben "Kenobi" Solo. It'd be silly, but I wouldn't be completely surprised.

One of the things I didn't really like was that the "new republic" gets a whole 0 minutes of screen time before they are conveniently blown up by the new death star. It just seemed like a rehash of episode 4 there tbh, like, the best big threat they could come up with was a death star that could shoot multiple planets at once? And they kill it the exact same way as in the original trilogy too...that's my biggest gripe.
Other than that I really liked the movie, I just think some of the plot devices were a little stale

I agree, it was too glossed over, but there's not really too much we can speculate at this point. :/

That's the general consensus, when one side tips too far, the Force will create a persona to restore balance towards the Light or Dark.
In terms of Rey, it's logical for the scene to play out as it did.
1. She was dropped on Jakku at a young age and had to fend for herself for a long time. She picked up her staff and doesn't seem too bad with it on Jakku. Think about the time period as well, there probably wasn't much REAL saber combat experience Ren could have acquired during the founding of Luke's NJO and we've seen his recklessness as he things up in his rage.
2. Also, Ren was seriously injured during the fight. Remember when Han shot a stormtrooper with it when Chewie let him borrow it? The dude flew! I imagine that hit Chewie got on Ren really put a toll on him. Finn got a couple of hits off as well before Rey had her turn. Even more evidence was how Ren was hitting himself to fight through the damage sustained prior to Rey's encounter.
In terms of Rey's connection with the Force, Kylo did try to get information out of her, and she managed to resist. Ren demonstrated the capabilities of the Force to Rey, hence why she was able to use a mind trick on the stormtrooper while captive. One last key point is Luke had a lot of natural talent when it came to the Force, yet when he trained with Yoda he had a hard time believing in its powers, Rey on the other hand believes 100%, so perhaps this is also a factor in her ability to use the Force?
Edit: Also shoutout to BB-8 and Finn bonding with the lighter thumbs up!

The funniest thing ever was when me and my friends sat next to some guy which is probably 18 or something. You should have seen his reaction when *cough* *cough* died. He did a facepalm and was like that for around 5 mins (Literally) Then at the very end where Finn got injured or something, he was just depressed, also at the part where Rey met Luke he became even more depressed and sat in the cinema for about 10 mins after the film finished. (Coz we had to go to the toilet, talk, etc and by the time we did that he came out)
The film was quite good tbh

The movie killed me inside, but other than that it was ok. I didn't like how it was almost exactly like A New Hope.
It also sucked that a character I've grown up with and have known for almost my whole life had to die.
I find Supreme Leader Snoke very interesting though. The way he was sitting, the way he looks and the fact that Kylo called him 'wise' highly hints that he may be Darth Plaguies, which would be pretty great.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to put in my two sense about the movie also and share my likes and dislikes. Just my opinion, not trying to start an argument with anyone

.
1. I felt the Han Solo death also made sense, TBH... Han Solo was scheduled to be killed off in the original trilogy but never was. And I agree with what Key said about a sith needing to experience loss as part of training. Either way, made sense. Just sucks we won't get to hear Han's sarcasm and spunk in the movies anymore. Read the books if you wish to experience this again.
2. I also liked Finn and Rey as the main focused characters. I see what Key was sayng about the force to be true, but with that said Kylo is technically half skywalker. And Skywalkers are powerful. He was Lukes Apprentice even, stated in the film. I don't understand how Rey (or even Finn) could even stand a slight chance against him. Needless to say I was upset they did that. They could have written in some other way for the two parties to clash for a second and then get away. And regardless of how the force "works" the first time Luke ever fought Darth Vader (not empire strikes back first time) Obi wans spirit empowered Lukes body to help him beat Vader. Unless they explain something like that later, that fight just didnt make sense to me. I mean... I guess chewie did shoot him.... lol.
3. Besides my previous complaint about this character, his name to Han and Leia was Ben..... BEN.... ugh... that's Lukes son OMAWGAWD! It;s like they morphed Jacen Solo and Ben Skywalker into ONE PERSON!!!!
other then this I quite enjoyed the movie and cant wait for the next one.

I like how people here are using examples from the awesome books even though disney essentially gave the middle finger to the books with this new movie.

With Disney canon, only the movies, the star wars clone wars show, and star wars rebels is canon. Anything else isn't. However, the clone wars got pretty clever and added a ton of references from the expanded universe, so much so that numerous stuff could also be considered canon. ie. The clone wars references many places and events that occurred during the old republic era, such as the Mandalorian wars, Malachor V, history (ie. Deathwatch talking about a time when the Mandalorians fought jedi with republic troops, and stole a lightsaber from their temples), and as said earlier, places. Not to mention in a deleted scene from the clone wars, Darth Revan himself was supposed to speak to Anakin Skywalker and try to convince him to join the darkside, but the scene was deleted because they didn't want to focus on ghosts (considering that was what the whole yoda arc at the end focused on) and because they realized Revan was redeemed. Models and dialog still exist however. Anyways, so I'd consider many things canon due to the small references in tcw, like Bane, Freedon Nord, Exar Kun, Revan, etc.
but yeah, all the books and comics and stuff aren't canon...except for the ones that I consider sorta canon thanks to the references in the clone wars and rebels. (Rebels even added a symbol used in SWTOR in an old republic base on a container. This symbol wasn't used in anything else but swtor.)

Honestly I'm glad the stuff that was made after Return of the Jedi is gone, that stuff was garbage and I'm glad the new movie didn't follow that storyline.

Eh, I wouldn't call it garbage, also Disney Canon makes the past irrelevant, (except for what I find canon due to references), so that's a down point.

I just really don't like what they did. The Emperor coming back made Vader's sacrifice pointless, as well as the prophecy of the chosen one. They had some interesting things/people, like Jaina Solo, Kyle Katarn and Darth Caedus, but the rest is meh. I never cared for Krayt, Abeloth, or Luke being able to manipulate black holes. I can somewhat believe Palpatine destroying fleets, as he's supposed to be the most powerful Sith ever, and you'd think the Dark Side would have that kind of destructive power. Also, why was Leia so weak compared to Luke? She was supposed to have the same amount of potential that Luke had.
