Knights Reborn

it started when someone under the name 'Scifi' was apparently laming. He was slept and didn't seem to speak English, seemed to be a Russian. HW attempted to communicate with the person and it seemed the person decided to simply disconnect from the server. In response to this, HW said, in regards to this person: "Dumb Russians never learn." In retrospect, I'm not exactly sure if this is a clear violation of KR's "no flaming" rule, since HW made this comment towards the person after the person already left, and not to the person directly. Perhaps someone could clear this up for me, however this behavior still seemed strange at the time (should admins not be above Flaming altogether, in any context?) especially since, on top of it, HW was speaking Russian in public chat, and then seconds later warning someone else not to speak anything other than English in public chat. The only real thing that bothered me is that, minutes later after having said "Dumb russian(s)" when pressed him on it, he denied having flamed. he would a minute later go on to completely deny ever using the word "dumb" altogether. He was also claiming later that "someone else said that." He told me that I should open console, scroll up and see that he never said "dumb Russians never learn" and that he only ever said "Russians never learn" (which he did say, forgoing the word 'dumb', but this was a separate incident that took place a few minutes after he actually said "dumb Russians never learn" earlier on) However having scrolled up, I could see the original incident in plain sight and took several screenshots, and asked him to also open console, scroll up further and see for himself. He seemed to not feel the need to do this though and instead threaten me with silence and dismiss me as a troll

a minor incident with some honest confusion behind it perhaps, perhaps someone can also clear up for me if it counts as either Flaming or bad behavior or not. i also just think it's important that the people that aim to keep track of others and hold others accountable are also sufficiently able to keep full track of themselves and their sayings and actions, or otherwise fully 'live up to' the standards they intend to push on others; there have seemingly been many other incidents where admins here 'toe the line' between right and wrong, when it comes to rules and regulations, and KR's "beliefs-system"

it also seemed strange that this "Spaeths" individual was not un-slept for the next 10-15 minutes after he was initially slept, despite actually initially agreeing to the request "dont lame" with the response "ok sure, whatever"; not the most polite response possible perhaps, but it also seemed to be a sufficient enough agreement to at least earn him a 'second chance' considering it was his first time being slept, his first offense. It seems at this point, he wasn't being policed for his previous actions, or for his lack of agreement (seeing as he actually agreed, for all intents and purposes) but for his tone towards an admin when agreeing to the terms. In scenarios like this, it ultimately comes across as a little unfair and prejudicial. I'm certain KR could agree that the concept of players having to completely 'boot lick' in order to actually receive pardons, is not 'ideal', and would ultimately not be a concept that KR would ever fully endorse. so keeping that in mind, from this point on, I would simply personally hope to never see any of the people on your staff even loosely entertain this idea or concept, directly or indirectly, consciously or unconsciously.

This is actually quiet sad, because you've got a point and plus I'm Russian myself. I never post anything in the admin complaints because I let the council do the work with the complaints but seriously... Plus saying something then denying it and saying someone else said it.

Someone else did said it though. I saw it with my own eyes honestly. I only said Russians never learn. I did originally slept one player he kept laming after he said he understood the rules and was a bit rude about it and then tried to lame me again on purpose so i had to sleep the player again to keep things in order. I meant no offense if anyone thought i was being very disrespectful. I know the rules and the procedures when it comes to handling things. I meant no offense to any russians. I do know i clearly said "Russians never learn" because they don't fully understand the server rules. I had to rely on google translator to communicate with any russians who are visiting the server. Seriously either this guy misread what he saw or was trying to provoke or "troll" me but in the end of the day i know i never said dumb russians at all. The logs are all there and the admins can read it. I have no intention to play a role to abuse my admin status. Just my 2 cent.
